5 Stars – A Proper Gem of a Pub!

The Queen Victoria in Swindon is everything you want from a local pub and more. From the moment you walk through the door, you’re greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The staff are brilliant – always welcoming, quick with a smile, and they really go the extra mile to make sure everyone’s having a good time.

But what really sets this place apart is the music. The Queen Vic is hands down one of the best live music venues in the area. Whether it’s a local band smashing out rock classics or something a bit more stripped back, the vibe is always buzzing. Great sound, great setup, and a crowd that knows how to enjoy themselves.

Drinks are reasonably priced, and there’s always a good choice behind the bar. Add in the character of the building itself – full of charm and proper pub feel – and you’ve got the perfect spot for a night out or just a cheeky pint with mates.

If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out. The Queen Victoria is a cracking pub with a heart and soul. Highly...

I used to really like going to The Vic - And used to go often enough to feel like a semi-regular. It was a genuinely decent pub that catered for the slightly more alternative music fan. Good live acts may still frequent the place - but I only broke my self imposed embargo as I wanted to get out of the rain... Hasn't improved in the year or so since I last went in. People still stood & smoking/vaping in the doorway (which was always pretty grim -but in these times- is even more so!) Floor is still sticky and table surfaces feel grimey. And the men's toilet walls are still adorned with certain pics from FHM, Loaded, Nuts & Zoo magazines - likely a choice that would be defended as "championing masculinity" - But one that (for me) only highlights an affinity with laddish cultureĀ that feels so much more than just immature & out of step - and actually quite problematic & retrograde. The staff are nice though - And it saddens me that it's no better - I've no desire...

I love The Vic!

Been going here for gigs for many a year!

A variety of bands from all walks of life play here. From well known bands to newcomers, and with great acoustics, I fully recommend catching a gig here🤘

There is a pub/bar area as you walk into the place, where you can chill at the bar or lounge in the seating area.

The stage itself is in the "basement" down a very short flight of steps, making the "rock feel" all the more authentic!

Decent beers on tap and bottled beers in the fridges, along with a variety of spirits.

There is a bar in the stage room, so no need to keep going up and down the steps šŸ‘

All in all, it's always a great time in The Vic, so...

Great alternative place with a rock and roll feel but plays various genres suiting most tastes. The ale was good so was the atmosphere with a foam machine in the mix. It can get very packed so I advise ordering two drinks at a time. A great place for adults of any age. I would have taken more pictures but it was Xmas eve and I was a little more than tipsy :D

Great pub which serves fantastic food and a good range of drinks. Often supporting local musical acts and comedians from around the country with a rich history of fantastic acts. A definite if you enjoy live rock and indie music. Friday and Saturday are by far the busiest nights, arrive in good time if you want a table!
