5 Stars ā A Proper Gem of a Pub!
The Queen Victoria in Swindon is everything you want from a local pub and more. From the moment you walk through the door, youāre greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The staff are brilliant ā always welcoming, quick with a smile, and they really go the extra mile to make sure everyoneās having a good time.
But what really sets this place apart is the music. The Queen Vic is hands down one of the best live music venues in the area. Whether itās a local band smashing out rock classics or something a bit more stripped back, the vibe is always buzzing. Great sound, great setup, and a crowd that knows how to enjoy themselves.
Drinks are reasonably priced, and thereās always a good choice behind the bar. Add in the character of the building itself ā full of charm and proper pub feel ā and youāve got the perfect spot for a night out or just a cheeky pint with mates.
If you havenāt been yet, youāre missing out. The Queen Victoria is a cracking pub with a heart and soul. Highly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used to really like going to The Vic - And used to go often enough to feel like a semi-regular. It was a genuinely decent pub that catered for the slightly more alternative music fan. Good live acts may still frequent the place - but I only broke my self imposed embargo as I wanted to get out of the rain... Hasn't improved in the year or so since I last went in. And the men's toilet walls are still adorned with certain pics from FHM, Loaded, Nuts & Zoo magazines - likely a choice that would be defended as "championing masculinity" - But one that (for me) only highlights an affinity with laddish cultureĀ that feels so much more than just immature & out of step - and actually quite problematic & retrograde. The staff are nice though - And it saddens me that it's no better - I've no desire...

Been going here for gigs for many a year!
A variety of bands from all walks of life play here. From well known bands to newcomers, and with great acoustics, I fully recommend catching a gig hereš¤
There is a pub/bar area as you walk into the place, where you can chill at the bar or lounge in the seating area.
The stage itself is in the "basement" down a very short flight of steps, making the "rock feel" all the more authentic!
Decent beers on tap and bottled beers in the fridges, along with a variety of spirits.
There is a bar in the stage room, so no need to keep going up and down the steps š
All in all, it's always a great time in The Vic, so...
