Chef's. Kiss. Superb, as ever. Village Kitchen has become our staple stop-off between Northampton and Glasgow, what has become a regular journey. You guys REALLY know what you are doing. Service is calm, friendly and efficient. The space is warm, spotless and inviting. And the food. Oh the food. Divine mushrooms, (how do you do it?) beautiful tomatoes and perfect poached eggs. Yes, I swapped out the veggie sausages today but have had them before and they were yummy too. Cakes do look great but I shall save a space for the cafes of Penrith. Well done all. It was so worth missing out exit on the M6 last year, we may never have found you.

Had possibly the best cooked breakfast I’ve ever had this morning Quality quality freshly cooked ingredients, really high standards and the brownie was exceptional Great venue clean good service the only tiny thing i can fault Is i like a latte in a cup not a glass but this is without doubt a brilliant little cafe and we will be visiting again for sure Highly highly recommended!

I absolutely LOVE this place! Great atmosphere, friendly, upbeat staff and the food is never a let down! They really cannot do enough for you. My daughter also has a dairy intolerance and the range of vegan options on the menu for her is one of the best around. This is my go to place whether it be breakfast lunch or attending the Supper Clubs. What an asset to Holmes Chapel.

Really don’t know how you get such good reviews or was it just a bad day today? Staff were abrupt almost to point of rudeness. Mixed messages about ordering. Simon said we will come out to get order bossy waitress said must go in. The food was hit and miss. Child’s ā€˜chicken’ nuggets were over cooked in dirty oil and couldn’t find any chicken. Toast buttered when asked not to on overpriced scrambled eggs Coffee was cold. Been in hospitality for 55 yrs so I will probably try again at some point. Lots of staff...

Poached eggs were stone cold, bread (listed as sourdough) was basic limp cheap white bread, not good. 'Chef' came over when we complained, no apology, just said he'd 're-do'. Came back cold again but my friend's a wimp and just nibbled the white toast! Attitude of 'chef' was appalling, lady who served us was more focused on us and seemed anxious which made me feel awful as she was really nice. Overall? DISAPPOINTED, won't be...
