We recently celebrated our autumn wedding at The Stables at The White Hart in Ampthill. We chose the venue because it was intimate and cosy, perfect for a small wedding. The staff at The White Hart are outstanding! They’re very friendly, welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable and professional. In particular, Amber, Ola and Emily were the staff who managed our booking. I always felt like I was in good hands with them from start to finish. On the day everything was perfect - the venue was set up as we’d planned and it looked fabulous! The food and drinks were amazing, and all the guests commented on how delicious the porchetta was!! Staff on the day were very attentive and helpful. The atmosphere and ambience inside and outside was perfect for our special day, and we can’t thank the team enough for making it so unforgettable!!! We would highly recommend this venue to couples looking for the perfect venue ❤️

The White Hart exceeded our expectations during our Monday lunchtime visit as a group of four. The service provided by the young gentlemen was exceptional, with their attentiveness and promptness making us feel valued throughout. The shashuka I ordered was simply delicious, with perfectly cooked eggs immersed in a flavorful tomato sauce. We enjoyed our meal in the sun-drenched outdoor seating area, and the staff consistently checked on us, ensuring a delightful experience. The White Hart's commitment to exceptional service, delectable cuisine, and inviting ambiance makes it deserving of its five-star rating. Our sincere thanks to the staff for making our visit truly memorable.

We spent the night and also had dinner here. The food was absolutely amazing, it tasted really fresh and had a nice flavour. I recommend the pork belly with mash. The room was lovely, old style with wooden beams etc. but still felt clean and modern. They went the extra mile with some petals and things in the room as it was our anniversary, which made it even more special. My only niggle (hence 4 stars instead of 5) was the lack of customer parking, so we had to walk quite far from the car. But overall a really lovely place, the hostess couldn’t do enough for us and it really made our stay an enjoyable one.

My recent experience at White Hart in Ampthill was unfortunately marred by extremely impolite and discourteous service from the bar staff. This was quite disappointing and has led me to the decision that I will not be returning to that pub ever again. Yesterday evening, after work on Thursday, February 28th, at approximately 7 o'clock, an unpleasant incident occurred when I popped in to the pub with my laptop after work intending to complete some work. I had a couple of drinks, then with the establishment becoming increasingly crowded, I approached the bar to order another, politely explaining that I felt I was occupying excessive space at my current table and inquiring about the availability of a smaller table equipped with a power outlet (as noone had bothered to come up to me and say anything about the situation). The response I received from the individual behind the bar, a rather unpleasant individual, was far from welcoming. With a dismissive tone, he replied, “Yeah, I know,” indicating that he was aware of the situation but was not willing to assist, and simply said they were fully booked. I packed up my belongings and told him to forget about the drink. Although a nicer young woman approached me and provided a more reasonable response as I was gathering my things, the initial encounter had already left a negative impression on me. Considering the numerous times I’ve dined at that establishment, I can only recall enjoying a satisfactory meal on a single occasion. They know how to cook a roast dinner. I do too, but I don’t charge £20 for it. I’ll never forget the time some pretentious person corrected my pronunciation of “Milanese”—then the food was burnt!...

When we made the booking certain things were not made apparent to us. Firstly there is no parking, you can park across the road in Waitrose car park however stand the risk of a ÂŁ40 fine. Secondly we were not told that the noise from the pub downstairs was going to be heard from our room until 01h00 in the morning. When we made the booking we were asked if we have ever been there before when we responded saying "No" this would have been the perfect time to have mentioned this. On checking in when we asked about parking and if we were in a quiet room, all of this was explained. Then when we wanted to cancel we were faced with having to pay the full amount as we didn't cancel 2 days prior, even though this was not possible as we made the booking the same morning we wanted to check in. Faced with losing ÂŁ124 pounds we decided to stay. The manager did his best to try and sort out things for us but his hands were tied by the actual hotel. We were fortunate that during the hour trying to sort all of this out there was a cancellation on the second floor which we gladly took.

The room was freshly refurbished. Breakfast was good. For the price though I was expecting more and this was...

If you want to stay in a hotel where you're unable to get to sleep because there's a full on loud bar/wedding/club going on just below you, then this is literally the perfect place for you.

We've moved rooms once already as there was a sign outside the window of our first room that was creaking in the wind.... Ok, the wind obviously isn't the hotel's fault, but not putting some WD40 on their sign is their fault! When I asked if there was another room....the girl serving us looked like she'd been asked the same thing a hundred times!

We've just been out for dinner, got back at 23:30 and the music is still blaring really loudly below us as I write this. We're now in room 4, the executive room, and the noise is ridiculous. Not sure if it's a wedding in the function room, or just the bar below but either way it's too loud to sleep until it stops which i think is 1am so we have a while to wait yet!

The rooms are nice, so it's a shame sleep is not really possible! Parking is also a nightmare in Ampthill... Again, obviously not the hotel's fault but worth considering when booking.

I certainly wouldn't book here again! I'll just be here, waiting for the music to go off so I can...
