Lovely cafe. Good choice of panninis, cakes and drinks. However, no one to greet at the door and instruct Re Covid rules, no track and trace operating, and in the hour I was there no-one wiped down any tables. For the whole hour I was there, 5 to 6 staff were constantly standing in the small space behind the counter, therefore standing literally shoulder to shoulder, and leaning in to each other to talk, (almost cheek-to-cheek). Read moreThis place thoroughly deserves it's high ranking. Seating inside, downstairs or in the roomy square outside. V g Wooden Hill coffee. Good Danish. Spotless loo. Attentive, polite staff...just as well as the place was busy with a queue of 10 around 11am. And then the opportunity to walk the side streets and browse around this pretty little Georgian market town. Only downside is the busy traffic esp north-south as there's only an east-west bypass. Excellent Grant Palmer 42 bus from Bedford stops right outside Waitrose. At least 5 pubs too. All you need then for a great day's visit!!...
Read moreAs a group of two walking families, both with a dog each, it was so nice to get in from the cold and sit down for a hot drink. Plenty of choice of drinks, lots of cakes including a few for various allergy related consumers and a few other sundry items. Unfortunately on our visit there was a problem with the oven so it looked like a reduced menu but don't let that put you off as I can only imagine it would be very appealing if that option was available. Dog friendly upstairs and plenty of dog free seating downstairs. Would definitely detour there again...
