Ordered a takeaway from here tonight - One of the items ordered was 'Crispy Bhajia' as stated on their online menu - when I collected the takeaway I noticed the bill said 'Aloo tikka masala' instead of the bhajia ordered - so I queried this with the bartender taking my payment and he said that they only put that on the receipt but the bhajia will be in the bag instead of the aloo tikka masala. The server then took my payment, and as I was sceptical I asked another server - and I also informed him that the aloo tikka masala they have placed on my receipt is more expensive than the bhajia starter I ordered - he apologised, and refunded me the difference however again stated that the correct item is in the bag regardless of the receipt being labelled as aloo tikka masala, and showed me their own receipt where they had crossed out aloo tikka masala and roughly written bhajia next to it (however they had left the price as the higher price of the curry). When I got home - surprise surprise - no bhajia in the bag, instead there was an aloo curry. I phoned them back and spoke to a member of staff named 'Kudri?' - and he apologised and offered any one free dish next time an order is placed for eat in or takeaway - I'd like to see if they actually honour this if we return. Furthermore, they need to have a better system in place rather than putting items of a different name on receipts and then scribbling corrections on the receipt and expecting the chef to make the correct orders. Food was decent...
Read moreA good pub is defined by its quality food and drink, but what truly makes a pub great is the sense of belonging and warmth it offers. From the moment my wife and I stepped into Woolpack Pub, we felt like family. As someone who has always lived in the area, I have a deep appreciation for local establishments. However, my wife, who comes from the north where Indian pubs are less common, was initially anxious about fitting in. Woolpack Pub dispelled all her fears by welcoming us both with open arms.
What sets Woolpack Pub apart is its exceptional family-friendly and woman-friendly atmosphere. The staff go above and beyond to make everyone feel at home, fostering an environment where all can relax and enjoy. This inclusive and inviting atmosphere is as important as the delicious food and drinks they serve.
Woolpack Pub has become our go-to spot, not just because of its great cuisine, but because it treats every customer like a valued member of the community. For its outstanding hospitality and warm, inclusive environment, it’s what makes them so great
Additionally, I would like to give a special shout out to Alex for his hardworking service. His dedication and friendliness significantly contribute to the welcoming ambiance that makes Woolpack...
Read moreI can’t recommend The Woolpack enough! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and vibrant. The decor strikes the perfect balance between modern and cosy, making it ideal for anything from a casual meal to a special night out.
The food was absolutely delicious — well-portioned, beautifully presented, and packed with flavour. The menu has a great variety of options, and everything we ordered came out fresh and quickly. The mixed grill, in particular, was a highlight — perfectly cooked meats, full of flavour, and amazing value for money!
The bar is also a standout feature, offering a great range of cocktails, draught beers, and spirits. The staff are attentive, friendly, and genuinely make you feel looked after.
Whether you're popping in for drinks with friends, a relaxed dinner, or a family meal, The Woolpack ticks every box. Definitely one of Leicester’s best-kept secrets — I’ll...
