Squirrelled away on a back street yards away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre is this little find. Less shouty than some of its neighbours, it doesn't rely on blackboards or major advertising to draw in the discerning. Given the size of the beautiful building on the outside it is quite cosy inside, there's a choice of real ales and beverages to suit everyone, the beers are kept very well. The food on offer is very reasonably priced 'Pub Grub', having said that the quality and service are top notch. Enjoy. M

The Three Fishes Inn is a 15th Century Building on the tiny, narrow, cobbled fish street in the medieval part of the city. There was an excellent choice of beers larger and cider, including five cask conditioned hand pulled real ales. The ones we tried were in excellent condition. The staff and locals are very friendly. This great pub is featured in the Camra good beer guide. It's one of my all-time favourite pubs.

About 35 years ago we stayed in the next door Tudor Lodge B & B. No longer a B & B but this pub has hardly changed . Had a couple of excellent meals here over the years. Albrecht on his first visit took a pint of Butcombe bitter. A lovely one room pub that wraps round the bar. Lovely quiet street opposite the church. Very friendly service. Four resl ales and two ciders. Yet again in the CAMRS Good Beer Guide.

Visiting Cheshire Just by luck we visited Shropshire and the town of Shrewsbury surroundedby the beautifull river severn to which i was surprised, what a beautiful town lots going on and well worth another visit that we will plan, not knowing the town we strolled into the three fishes for a bite to eat, well impressed with the service the food and the staff we had sandwiches with superb chips and side salad and a pot of tea, will definitely return in the summer to spend a week in the town that needs to advertise all its...

Had a pint in the period on the run up until Christmas so there were a few more people in than normal, which I am assuming helped the atmosphere. This is a traditional old pub, no music, has its regulars, good staff. If this is your thing, its a good choice, its an old pub too. If you want a bit more life and energy, Shrewsbury has plenty of other options (and I'm not referring to clubs. There are plenty of pubs where you can enjoy a drink, chat but the atmosphere has more energy with a...
