I guess we must have been unlucky, but unfortunately our visit did not get off to the best start, and that sadly left a poor impression. We were given menus and told they would come to take our order, but 20 minutes later, and having seen other later arrivals get served (including takeaways) I had to go in to try and order (and there were staff stood around chatting) and they sent me back out to then come and take our order. Scones were also a little dry to be honest, and fell apart quite a bit when cutting in half. I know judging by your previous replies to people that you will suggest I should have brought it up, but for one we were on the clock for parking, and secondly it is not always that straightforward. We had already put our cream and jam on for a start. Also, they were edible and still quite nice, but we are entitled to our opinion that they were a little dry, and entitled to review as such. You clearly have a nice cafe, in a nice location and have plenty of good reviews which will see you continue to get good business, and deservedly so. I appreciate you strive for perfect reviews every time, but that is unrealistic and you should take this review as constructive rather than malicious. I give good reviews when I feel they were deserved as you can check, but I also believe in giving not so glowing ones when it is also warranted as is my right, and is how reviewing...
Read moreIt's a great place to sit and watch the world go by. Admittedly it's right on the esplanade road and the World had to go by , but you know what I mean . Lovely selection of cakes , scones , tea cakes plus toasted sandwiches etc. Take a little seat out the front and their little dog will wander between your feet , with a little sign on his collar saying ' I live here, please don't not feed me ' . Just as well otherwise it would be the size of a house . I had a piece of Biscoffeblondie. You know the one full of caramel biscuit, marshmallow and white chocolate. Only a small piece of course. The sun was shining it's slightly sheltered from the sea breeze and it has a wonderful view over the beach and sea. Service was good and quick , seats are comfortable and its close to the town too....
Read moreNow this is a tea room! I love a good cream tea and so do my family! It is always a struggle to find somewhere you can get a 'good' cup of tea and even harder to find it accompanied by good cake and food. Tonis is in a fantastic spot and although it has a limited number of seats, if you need to wait at busier times it is definitely worth it! We have a dog and it can be a struggle to find a place that is dog friendly. Upon entering you feel right at ease and are greeted by the friendliest of staff and also Toni's little dogs! If you are on the Isle of Wight and want a great tea room with an amazing aspect and view and even more importantly great food and drinks this is a must!...
