We both stayed at Valentino's and dined there. This review covers the rooms experience. The dining experience is reviewed separately and is faultless. The rooms experience is good but needs a little attention to detail.||First the good news. Parking is included in the stay and the venue takes particular care to reserve the space. Great initial impression. The location is close to the square and everything in Ripon is within easy walking distance. The rooms are above the restaurant and face onto a road but they must be well insulated as external noise is well suppressed. That is an unusual touch. Whilst the rooms are on the small size, that is a limitation of an old property. However, furnishings are of good quality and the bed is exceptionally comfortable. Bed linen and towels are soft and of high quality.||The breakfast is exceptional with an imaginative Italian twist. Freshness abounds and portions are generous. There's practically unlimited tea and coffee. Uniquely, the chef takes and serves the orders. It's first rate stuff.||Points to improve. 1) The stairway up to the rooms is carpeted and of high quality commercial standard. However, the lower steps could do with regular vacuum attention since the first impression is of dirty lower steps, which is slightly off-putting and not in step with the otherwise clean standard of the rest of the property. 2) The shower (Veneto room) appears in good condition until you realise that the temperature thermostat is faulty and the water temperature stays at a challengingly warm level regardless of control position. 3) The painted furniture is noticeably scuffed - probably from a combination of enthusiastic cleaning and careless guests. I had an absolutely delightful experience at Valentino's restaurant and bed and breakfast in Ripon, North Yorkshire. From the warm welcome by the friendly receptionist to the impeccably designed room, every aspect exceeded my expectations. The room's amenities, including the remarkably comfortable bed and pillows, hi-spec smart TV, and thoughtful touches like USB bedside charging points, made my stay truly exceptional.

The cleanliness of both the room and corridors was impeccable, and the addition of a coffee machine, cooling fan, and under-the-counter fridge with cold bottled spring water enhanced the overall comfort. The large walk-in shower and the delectable homemade Italian biscuits were delightful surprises.

My evening at the restaurant was equally impressive. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, ensuring prompt and timely service despite the restaurant's busy atmosphere. The food was nothing short of scrumptious, providing an authentic taste of Italy with a diverse menu featuring locally sourced and Italian ingredients. The extensive selection of wines and desserts added to the overall culinary delight.

What sets Valentino's apart is not just the exceptional quality but also the reasonable pricing, making it a standout choice compared to corporate rivals. To top it off, the thoughtful gesture of providing a takeaway continental breakfast for my early departure demonstrated their commitment to guest satisfaction.

We stayed at Valentinos for 1 night last night for our anniversary in the toscano room and From arrival to checkout our stay was perfect. The room was small but we did book the smallest room which was more than adequate. It was very comfortable and decorated to a very high spec, from the stylish doors to the chrome sockets n switches, every detail covered. The bathroom was lovely with a dual shower, the bed was very comfortable and we had silence all night. There were biscuits, fresh milk and bottled water in the fridge for us. The 2 ladies who checked us in and served in the resturant were lovely whilst the owner himself served breakfast and was very nice and accommadating. The food was amazing all freshly cooked to order. We had our evening meal there also which was delicious and breakfast was an Italian style breakfast and was cooked to perfection. Overall I would score 10/10 and will be...
