Viceroy — Restaurant in England

I have had a takeaway & eaten at the restaurant now & on both occasions the food was fantastic . These guys have won national awards at their yeovil restaurant & it's clear why . Generous amounts of meat & wonderful flavours make their curries outstanding . They are very friendly & welcoming , after i asked the manager to send our compliments to the chef he came out to meet us & chat . I found a new favourite Pathia curry with fruit & nut rice & an elusive old favourite King cobra beer in their fridge which I haven't seen in years & is one of the finest lagers money can buy . This restaurant is tucked away down a side street so I hope it gets noticed & gets the recognition it deserves , it was worryingly quiet both times I went & I really can't imagine why as it truly is amongst the best Indian food I have ever had . We booked this place on the recommendation of a friend. But the atmosphere was terrible. The head waiter was arguing with a guy at the desk because he had made the order for a take away at the wrong restaurant. Then the phone was ringing the whole time for takeaways. The kitchen is in the dining area and its very noisy. Finally a driver in a old jacket delivered a menu. But nobody was taking orders, even for drinks or poppadom. So we left, the only other people at the place, who had been around for ten minutes longer, than we had waited, then left with us. Went out with friends, six of us, none of us had eaten there before, the service was terrible and very slow, we started with popadoms, then we all had starters one came out, then another 5 minutes later, when our meals arrived it was slow and eventually we all got we ordered, the portions were ok but the quality of the food was very poor,the waiter who served us had terrible body odour, I went to the toilets and couldn't believe it, they were disgusting the worst I've ever been in, you had to walk past the kitchen and there was dirty plates piled up on a chest freezer and cooking oil on the floor, do yourself a favour, go somewhere else, there also very...
