Went here after an afternoon at the beach to chill out with my misses.

We realised we hadn't really eaten anything at all that day and we're very hungry, concidered fish n chops but everything was closed.

She said how about pizza and searched and found Very Italian Pizza.

Turned up and parked near by and saw the place was more like a family run Deli, loads of options on the menu, every one was jolly, welcoming and made you feel like you were with your family, even the customers were joking with us and suggesting stuff as we ordered.

I love good pizza, one of my favourites is a ragu or similar topping, the lady who served us said they also have meatball pizza, so I asked what she preferred, "obviously meatballs are better" she said, so I went with that.

Now some may think "what? Meatballs on pizza?"........and think it's odd.

Believe me when I say, this thing was so good a was praising gods from different religions......the dough and the cooking were amazing, the meatballs were home made, I think pork and beef, and the size of tennis balls, five of them, the tomato sauce had so much flavour and the cheese was amazing too, delicious gooy toasty mozzarella, and fresh basil 😘👌!

I would never have believed I could get a pizza like that on a back area in Saltdean.

My misses had a mozzarella pizza, fresh hand knotted cheese, both pizas were amazing.

I'm going back as soon as we can to have a sit down meal and try all vtbe amazing options they have, one local suggested the spicy smoked cheese, and there are about 20 or so pizza options, hopefully some Fritto Misto too.

Great value for the quality and care that goes into what they serve.

Show these people the love they will show your taste buds and drop by, you will not be disappointed if you love great...

We had been past VIP Pizza many times but never been in. Well it was well worth the wait, firstly i would recommend that you book so your not disappointed that you can't get a table. On arrival the staff were friendly and very helpful, and not once were did we feel pressured to place our order. The menu is quite extensive and if your a pizza lover then you have enough options to keep you busy, plus the selection of pasta dishes will make your mouth water. We never had one but the sea food dishes looked amazing

The food we ordered was really good, and you could see that it was freshly cooked. Over all we had a three course meal, bottle of wine and a couple of beers and the bill was very competitive, and for the first time in a long while a service charge was not automatically added to the bill, we had to ask if we could leave at tip. A nice touch not to have it just added as a matter of course.

As a result of our experience and the food we had we will defiantly be returning, my only hope is that the staff remain as they were, friendly and attentive going forward. We have been to other places which had fantastic service the first time, but then when going back the second time the service was terrible.

So a big thank you to the VIP team and we look forward to seeing you...

My husband and I came to this restaurant back in the day when the establishment was small and quaint with tentage at the back and the pizzas were heavenly. We came to Rottingdean last week for a holiday and booked again with our family. Excited to have an authentic Neopolitan pizza again we arrived and looked again at the menu. My husband chose the Cinque Formaggio which he enjoyed, my youngest the margherita and eldest daughter the carbonara and then I ordered the Rustica Bianche (we always have the Bianche when we visit Italy) and I chose this particular pizza for the variety of fresh mushrooms and black forest ham that was advertised. It arrived to the table and I was surprised with the ball of mozzarella which was freezing in temperature and made my pizza cold and the cheese solidify which was nasty but just as bad were the slimey canned mushrooms which were used and were vile. I spent our holiday singing your praises and we discussed with enthusiasm what we all wanted and I was let down and disappointed. I would not recommend this restaurant to my friends and family in the area. It seems that greed has affected...

I've had their pizza delivered to me a few times and it's always hit the spot. I recently made my first visit to the restaurant in Saltdean with my girlfriend and was on the whole very impressed. For background, VIP is quite well established in Saltdean as well as having a cosy trattoria in Brighton, this was our first foray to one of their restaurants. We started with aperitifs - cocktails and olives. The quality of the drinks was good but my only slight issue was with the taste of the olives, just a bit bitter and lacking in flavour for me, but not enough to deduct stars. The wine that followed went down very well, and the main attraction, the pizza of course was very tasty indeed. Perfect crusts, base and toppings. Service was friendly and helpful, the ambience was unfussy, fairly typical of a pizza joint, cosy enough, and quite vibrant and busy, a contrast with the extremely quiet surroundings of Saltdean. In conclusion this is a real welcome asset to Saltdean, which stands out amongst a parade of more day-to-day shops and food outlets.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Every visit to VIP Very Italian Pizza – Saltdean is an absolute treat! Adriana and the team are always so warm, welcoming, and attentive – they truly make you feel like part of the family from the moment you walk in. The service is consistently outstanding, and their genuine passion for what they do shines through. The cocktails are nothing short of amazing – perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. The menu is extensive, offering something for every taste, yet everything stays true to authentic Italian roots. From the fresh, pizzas to the delicious pastas and decadent desserts, every dish is bursting with flavour and made with love. Dining here is more than just a meal – it’s a full Italian experience, complete with vibrant atmosphere, incredible food, and the kind of service you can’t help but rave about. Can’t wait for our next visit!

Firstly, there is no reduction of stars, just that i add the extra two on for outstanding reasons A basic three stars should mean good service(it was), broad menu or good specialities(there was). I have been in a few Italian restaurants. They were better with food and the layout was not as cramped. I have nothing derogatory to say about VIP just expect to pay a premium price for an average Italian restaurant. My main advice would be that the tastes of certain foods good be excellent and not just okay.
