Cold food with only a partial refund - will not use again. Details follow - My review is based upon my experience through Wiseguys & justeat.
We ordered for 2 people and a delivery, both of us having 1 main and 1 side. The entire order cost appx £40 but because it was Tuesday, was reduced by 25% to appx £30.
Because my food arrived cold (my friends meal was still warmish) we were honest and requested a refund for my 2 items only. This should have been Appx £19 (burger for £12, dirty fries £7).
Then of course was the 25% discount for being Tuesday, which should equal 25% off the £19 refund, right? ( I was expecting about £14.75)
Wrong! They deducted the entire discount from the entire order, and now charged full price for the entire lot (including my friends side of the order.) This difference was deducted from the refund. So despite my half of the order costing £14.75 - I only received £8 back. I attempted to reheat the dirty fries, but the result was inedible, as reheated chips usually are. I ate my burger cold. I could tell it would have been really nice hot, but was at least still edible cold.
The refund was a "take it or leave it" justeat credit for a future order. There was no ability to say "hang on a minute, I want back half, for half the order gone cold "
Needless to say, I was unable to order a suitable alternative for £8 from elsewhere. This entire experience has put me off using justeat in connection with Wiseguys, because if it's good, it's great, but if it's not, the partial refund is nowhere near enough to order an alternative...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe went in the late afternoon so the place was virtually empty which was a shame. The diner was clean & the staff member who served us was polite enough but she didnāt really speak other than to ask us for our order. We ordered a four seasons pizza & a 12 oz cheese & bacon burger. The burger came with a tiny portion of coleslaw that was mostly red cabbage storks & fries. We also ordered curly fries. The food was mediocre at best as most of it was over cooked to the point of being burned. The edges of the pizza were black & both sets of fries were hard & dry. Strangely one of the āseasonsā on my pizza was represented by sweetcorn, which is the oddest thing Iāve ever had. One quarter of my pizza was literally covered in sweetcorn & nothing else?? The burger was also black around the edges giving everything the appearance of having been cooked with a blow torch. We also had a couple of bottles of coke & the whole thing came to Ā£45 which would have been fine had the food been decently prepared, I mean I donāt mind paying a fiver for a portion of Tesco Curley Fries if theyāre cooked well but these were not. Tried the place once & wont...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely fabbo "hidden" gem. I'm a coeliac and had seen that they did some gluten free stuff there - the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were looking for a quick meal before we set off back home after a trip to the seaside....As an aside, Brid is great out of season for anyone wanting wonderful beaches and seaside walks. It's a little known apocryphal fact that I've just created, but I think you can walk all the way from Brid to London along the beach with the right tides, the beach is that long....Anyroad, Wiseguys said they did gluten free pasta so my wife and I had two different ones, Carbonara and the Chicken in creamy red pesto sauce. OMChuffingG, they were both utterly fantastic. Great portion sizes, as I'm rather an oinker, but more important, absolutely delicious and so savoury. Best GF pasta dishes I've ever had, without hesitation, and I've had more than 5 in my time. Will deffo go again, next time we're in Brid. Recommend totally and...
