Spices 4 U — Restaurant in England

Have been to this restaurant a couple of times before with no problem before so we decided to try it again last night. I've read reviews before saying it is roomy so they must have put more tables in, because roomy it definitely is not. There was only one waiter and a child working out front and all the tables were full. A few tables left fairly quickly leaving it half full. We be had to wait a while before we got drinks and had our starter order taken. Half an hour after taking the starter order they decided to tell us that they had run out of mushrooms and would have to order something else, why did this take half an hour? It took 45 mins for the starter to arrive so patience was wearing thin already. By now the group at the side of us were getting irate and shouting for their starter. After another 45 minutes we saw another group in the corner, whom we presumed were just having drinks after their meal, started getting their food, it was coming out in dribs and drabs, one plate at a time, it must have taken over 10 minutes to come out. Enough was enough so I went to the bar and said we were leaving. It took four attempts for the waiter to understand this but he eventually charged me. By now the group at the side were shouting and getting ready to walk. In the one and three quarter hours we waited there was a steady stream of takeaways going out. Had a similar experience at Masala in Brid a couple of years ago. They think cos you're in the restaurant you're not going anywhere and concentrate on the takeaways, at least there they had the decency not to charge us, these guys took full whack for the drinks and starters. Went on a fishing trip with some friends on Tuesday the 8th of September 2020 . After our day out fishing we decided to find a restaurant to have a meal together so we ended up at this restaurant . What a big mistake . There was 9 of us . After we sat down we ordered some papadoms and chutney . The papadoms Weren’t warmed up properly so they tasted damp !!! We ordered 3 large platter starters to share amongst us . The starters were flavorless and you could tell it wasn’t fresh .. So we come to the main course ??? Well that was totally amazing . Everyone enjoyed their mains . We asked the tall skinny waiter ( oh there’s just the one waiter ) to recommend us some side dishes , he did !! Potato’s with mince mixed. Bhaji . The potatoes were off ! The stench was unbelievable . So didn’t want to cause a fuss , after we finished our mains we mentioned it to the waiter you could tell from his attitude the he couldn’t care less . So we left it and asked for our bill ! But what gets me is he left it still on the bill and didn’t bother to deduct the potatoes that we didn’t eat . We left paying a bill of £154.00 and on top of that a tip of £6.00 .( because the mains were great ) But will never return due to the customer service we got from the waiter /owner . Short to the point .. Ordered a take away delivery at 18:31 for my Sisters Birthday Treat , got comfirmation email then got another email to say Your order has been accepted. You can expect it around 7:09 PM Ha what a joke .. Then at 19.12 got this ..Your order is now on its way. You can expect it shortly. Please ignore if you've already received it. Thank you. HA ! order not arrived still by 8pm so i rang them and low behold they forgot to sent order to kitchen . so i said be to late to eat . so they said we have it to you in 10 mins and apologised .. I wanted to cancel for refund but let them have one more chance so they gave complimentry popadoms wow .. anyway that 10 min turned into another 30 mins before arrived at 8.30 . By this time sister was not bothered as she dunt like going to bed on a meal that late .. SO to sum up first and last time we will be using this and go back to joypur as allways on time and hot .. The feedback from sister and partner not good lamb was too chewy and only 4 bits ,and chips cold and chicken to much salt .. such a shame as really for a first Time Brid customer this was all round very dissapointed especially when order takes 2hours and that was only because i rang to remind them .
