Tried this restaurant completely on a whim tonight after being let down when a reservation elsewhere in town wasn't honoured. Firstly the staff were amazing, a last minute booking was treated like we were seasoned regulars and the guys couldn't do enough for us. Super pleasant and attentive at all times. Talked us through the menu and made sure we were happy multiple times. The menu is great with a good selection of pizzas on there. The open plan kitchen is good as I always love to see the food being cooked and everyone on either side of the counter were super happy and pleasant. On to the food. . . . Wow!!!! We started by ordering the dough balls and they were unlike anything I've ever had, mozzarella centred and tastier than any I've ever had. Then the pizzas. Beautiful stone baked bases and perfectly topped. Not too much sauce so it's awkward to eat but coated in toppings so you taste everything you want to. The restaurant doesn't serve alcohol but charge a very reasonable ÂŁ2.50 per person corkage to take your own, making it a very reasonable night out. A group of 3 adults and 1 child all ate 1 pizza each, a few soft drinks for the child as well as a couple of starters and desserts all for ÂŁ85 amazing value.
Best cancellation I've ever had, I will deffo be spending my money here...
Read moreVisited last night with a large party of people. The table was booked for 6.30pm and immediately as we sat down we were told we had to vacate the table by 8pm. Having only an hour and a half to eat a meal isnât a lot of time when youâre in a group of 12 or so people and we had no time for desserts. When I gave this feedback to our waiter I was told (dare I say, in a rather defensive manner) that our table had been booked for 6.15pm and it was our fault because we had arrived late. I was also told that it was policy that each table gets two hours allocated unless there is another booking. My colleague who booked the table later said she had definitely asked for 6.30pm and wasnât made aware of there being another booking after.
I understand that Saturdays are busy and the business will want to take as many diners as possible but I wasnât impressed with being rushed and lied to about booking times. For this reason we decided to not pay the discretionary service charge. Itâs a shame because the pizzas are great but I donât think we will be...

I had a hankering for a Neapolitan slice after months watching my carb intake. So it happened that I found myself in Macclesfield. A Google search directed me to Honest Crust at the Picturehouse but save for the Ramen options, everything was a chip of the Mackie Mayor and Altrincham Marketplace. Both are lovely places with a fabulous vibe and a definite go to when meeting up with friends whoâs idea of pizza is an inch thick slab of dough slathered with tomato and a mound of white processed cheese. Besides, having the latter on my doorstep leads to a bit of familiarity.
So I was pleased to find a branch of the very nice pizza place I chanced upon in Wilmslow.
The venue is cosy and built around the wood fired oven. You wonât struggle to have a conversation.
The pizza are great. All the standard hits are on the menu. A special was on offer with a white tuna pizza and while I didnât try it, it earned them an extra star for effort. Rudyâs shouldnât corner the market on...
