Only second time I have written a review and it's going to be lengthy, bare with!. Since retiring a few years ago, once a week I take myself off somewhere, up to 100 miles, to somewhere I have not visited before and while Macclesfield is only 30 miles from my home, I have passed through but never stopped until today. ALWAYS I seek out what appears to be an above average restaurant, it's a treat, for light lunch and always have the same dish Eggs Benedict. ALWAYS the same dish. Even abroad I have the same lunch, in the Med they do it with fried Egg Plant, generally in this country it is with ham but my favourite is with smoked salmon, rare! So today I visited Prime Cut as it had my dish with Steak, never seen this before. Anyway, see the photo, I was amazed what was served, for £11.00. The eggs were cooked to perfection, the steak fell apart and the bonus was the side salad. This was by far the best I have ever experienced any where and combined with exceptional staff and great surroundings I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. I intend to travel in the evening for a visit just to try their steak meals. 10/10 Prime Cut, you deserve...

Lovely staff and good service however the food was the main let down. We both ordered steak and had a few sides between us. Food was well presented but the steak didn't have much flavour, veg was really nice but the potatoes were really stale and just not nice. I ordered the banoffee pie for dessert and it wasn't nice at all. The Banana slices inside it were black. I am more than happy to pay the price tag for quality food but this was far from it. The food is well overpriced for what it is. The decor looks nice on the surface but look closer and it isn't clean. There was dead flies in the window ledge and a few big meat flies flying about inside. The only toilet is a combined unisex/disabled toilet (which as a woman I don't like) The toilet seat was covered in urine when I went in and the toilet seat was broken. The light also didn't work so I had to sort this out in almost darkness. As mentioned before the staff were all so nice, I didn't say anything for this reason and that I'm not really sure what they could do. This is my honest review, sadly based on this experience I wouldn't...

Overall a little disappointing. The atmosphere of the venue is warm & welcoming. The decor is great. The entertainment was pleasant if not a little loud. The food however is somewhat mediocre. My partner ordered the chilli & garlic linguine which was supposed to have both prawns & mussels. There were only prawns with not a single mussel in sight. The linguine was swimming in oil and the sauce (of which there was very little) was bland. A slight creamy taste managed to work its way through all the oil. I ordered the fillet steak, with sides of asparagus & dauphinoise potatoes. The asparagus was cooked to perfection, however, the steak was a little dry, not juicy and the potatoes were basically just sliced boiled potatoes, with minimal sauce, & I mean minimal. Tasteless and far from what you’d expect in a setting like this with not exactly low end prices. It will be my first...

Has potential to be great. Ill start with PRICES. They are are stupid. Its Macclesfield, not the middle of Wilmslow or Prestbury. Infact, its cheaper in Alderly edge. Before i go on, it was about 5pm on a Saturday evening, restaurant was near empty. I've attached a picture of my burger, i was quite looking forward to the 'full size gurkin' as said on the menu. Haven't a clue who would order a half of one, it was the size of a bean. The burger itself was small and below standard for an 'up market' restaurant/bar. Along with many other people, food had to be sent back, every dish (8 in total) was stone cold. You can see in the photo, a lad i was with is without his food, all he has is his chips, this is him still waiting for his small cold steak to be delivered. I will add, the front of house staff were impeccable. No fault there.

What a bizarre but great place! They have a big menu with lots of meals and dishes to choose from - not just steak. The venue tries to keep you well fed and entertained. There is a singer who is very interactive with the diners and when any significant meat dish is brought out, this is finished off at a mobile cooking station with lots of flames and dedicated music! One sour point, however, is that we opted for the "Gold" dish which is shown on the advertising screens (which is also quite a bit extra £££) as a steak wrapped in a large sheet of gold. When the steak arrived there was a little bit of gold placed on top that looked like a bit of an afterthought. We complained about this and after quite a heated discussion it was removed from the bill. - we still tipped though because the rest of the night was so good.

So a friend lives in the area so decided to asend on his area for a change and agreed to try here. All in all in wasn't overall impressed however wasn't disappointed ether I'd say just run of the mill for a steak house of its kind. What was disappointing is all the share steaks were nit available and was only a Thursday. Myself and a friend looked forward to sharing a platter but had no of any type. Very dissatisfied at this. However the food and choices we did make where good and very nice. Am not entirely certain on the quality of the steaks as seemed quote thin and flat given the price. However am no expert. I'd much prefer a bem brisl style for vaule of money and choice. Over all good hence the 4 star but not as expected.
