We visited Woodstone in Penrith on Sunday 6th October. When arriving everything seemed pleasant and then went downhill. The spicy chicken wings we ordered had no spice to them and were £9.50 for 6 what seemed like frozen wings. We ordered a rump steak cooked medium and a cheeseburger no salad. The steak was overcooked, no to a medium or well done standard but burned. The burger had salad on it which wasn’t the end of the world. We asked to send the food back as there was a lady on another table saying the salmon was dry so decided to leave and eat elsewhere. On the way out the guy serving, working there from the Keswick store, got the chef to take our payment. £18 for 1 pint of grolsch one coke and some wings. No further contact from the waiter.
I stopped on the way out to say I was disappointed in the visit and they need to work on their customer service skills.
The waiter then followed us on to the street shouting “I apologised several times” over and over before calling me a knobhead and closing the door behind himself.
A knobhead! I was stopped from going back in because 1 it’s not worth it and 2 It was so funny that it happened.
I’d hope this isn’t a regular thing but if it is then maybe a heads up that you’ll get called a knobhead by the waiter after leaving...
Read moreFast food with slow service. Booked a table for 4 adults and 2 kids last evening for a special occasion. Service was slow and unco-ordinated, Pizzas came first after 1 hour, the Malibu Wild Fire was missing its Wild Fire as they had ran out of jalapenos and were looking for some more! Fortunately the bolognese pizza did have bolognese on it. The burgers arrived later. The cumberland sausage burger was a joke, two thin sausages in a burger bun, didnt even fill it. My quarter pounder was tasty but of low quality. The jalapenos arrived, the sliced variety that come out of a jar. We went from not seeing a member of staff for almost an hour to seeing 2-3 different ones in 10 minutes with plates being cleared before we had finished! They were busy with a queue outside and obviously wanted our table. Gave feedback at the time to front of house but didn't have any impact on our £73 bill. We are local, won't be back, obviously catering for volume and the tourist trade. Takeaway section was busy and use of a walkie talkie radio for internal communication didn't add to the experience...
Read moreThe staff were pleasant and the food came out quickly but the menu was oddly counterintuitive. Classic pizza choices were missing with unusual combinations to choose from. No mushroom pizzas, no goats cheese pizza. The Greek pizza initially seemed an option but when I saw someone at another table I changed my mind. The toppings were practically raw. I ended up goi g for a double pepperoni The pizzas were not professional level, too much cheeses and toppings were cooked oddly. Also we sat outside and were told after our drinks were served that as we were sitting outside we would be required to pay upfront. No apologies or explanation just asked if we would be paying by card or cash. We should have paid only for drinks and left. £38 for two 9 inch pizzas, a bottle of lager and a can of Diet Coke. Honestly I can’t understand the positive reviews here. I would never...
