Probably the best pub in Macclesfield! The staff are really welcoming and friendly, and the team that Sally runs is very professional at the same time. The menu is extensive, with excellent choice of daily specials each day. The service is quick and efficient, given the fact that quite often there are plenty of people there. It is 'more than' dog friendly, going out of their way to fuss dogs, and provide water and treats. Outside covered seating is available for the warmer days - and being able to eat outdoors just adds to the overall experience. And the food is always freshly prepared, superbly tasty and never disappoints. As a pensioner I really appreciate the smaller portion Sunday Roast - excellent!

So - if you haven't been then put it on your list - you will probably end up regulars like us - but at busy times, like weekends, you need to book to avoid...

John and Kathy are the ultimate mine hosts. We were greeted as we entered the spotlessly clean pub. We elected to sit outside where the garden furniture was new and excellent quality The toilets......always a clue, were immaculate. The staff were very efficient without being intrusive and as a customer left the table and bench were immediately cleaned and sanitised. The food was to die for, don't expect immediate service as everything is freshly cooked. The pies are award winning and filled to capacity, proper pies, not a casserole with a hat on. They even accomodated me by going off menu and providing me with roll mops as a starter......thanks John. I would reccomend anyone to stop here, if you are on a boat as we were and do not visit you are missing a trick. We will be back on our return journey. Thanks again John and Kathy, i think was a joy...

Called in for a meal. First impressions, saw dog biscuits on the bar in bowls, then a power cut so couldn't get a drink other than something bottled and warm. Asked for a menu and given 'burger or butty' menu. The specials board was meat pie & chips or fish & chips. The fish, chips & peas were all from frozen, which I said when asked if I was enjoying my meal. I was told the chef would be told (as if the "chef" didn't already know) Been past this place many times in the last 3 years, noticing it closed down more than open. When I went, mine was the only car in the car park, which should have...

Just stopped for a quick lunch and both my wife and myself were really impressed. Best steak sandwich I've had in ages, chips and salads also great. Good solid pub food but really well done. Nothing too fancy and really well priced also. Great service and a nice spot in the sunshine outside. Parking could be better but we parked about 150 yards away on the road and walked, so not a massive issue. Will defo go again!!

Good beer, good food, friendly service. I had scampi and chips and the scampi was delicious. There’s a new decking area being built where the carpark used to be but it’s not too out of walking distance from Macclesfield or the surrounding areas and is just off the canal so perfect place to stop if you’re out for a walk. Dogs very welcome.
