The atmosphere was ok when we walked in, and the food selection was decent. We were a bit surprised at the slow service with how empty the place seemed and the dirty table we had to sit at was never noticed or cleaned. The food was beautiful, I was pleased to see that the Yorkshire pudding looked home made and not some ready made Aunt Bessie kind or similar. We were thinking of trying the desert options but waiting for someone to come back and see if we wanted any was far too long, so we lost interest and decided to just pay and leave. We had a really great time and people were friendly.

20 mins plus to get served our drinks, 40 mins to get served food. If we could get another table at a different place in town close by, we would have left. Small and full English breakfast ordered, size wasn't great, and bacon and sausage were naff. The atmosphere was poor based off people being upset by their wait.

This is a little gem of a find...plus it is very dog friendly! The food was fab but the cakes were out of this world...so much so I had a rather large takeaway 😄. The staff were super friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Would highly recommend a visit or two!!

We arrived and on first thoughts what a lovely little old cafe ,we were the only ones in there about 1pm so found a table easily , the chair was very old the padding had completely gone but didn’t really bother me , no sooner had we sat down a young girl appeared asking what we would like so we picked very quickly , my daughter picked a small breakfast I picked a blt with chips and two teas , while waiting I had a look around massive cobwebs above own heads ,a broken piece on the fire place ( metal piece hanging off ) anyway the food arrived the breakfast looked nice my chips home cooked really lovely , I took one look at my sandwich green mould on the top of it so I called the girl who just smiled and took it away, I heard her shout someone’s name and said this bun is mouldy , she soon came back with another one which I did eat and it was nice but the whole time worrying if anything else was out of date , anyway we paid and left with no sorry from the cook I’m assuming the owner and a simple good bye from the waitress, we won’t be going again which is a shame because on first thoughts thought it maybe our new go to cafe a specially when I saw they did Sunday lunch , if it was my place I would have been out and apologised and maybe knocked some...

This is without a doubt THE best café in Malton. They serve tasty food. Every single thing I've ordered has been delicious and hot. The breakfasts are amazing and there's no other place in town that serves this amazing quality of food. I can't really describe in words the warm and cosy feel of this place oozing with character. The staff are brilliant and hardworking. Always friendly and welcoming of everyone. Dog friendly and child friendly, enjoy free WiFi while you wait for your food. A must visit place if you are visiting Yorkshire Food Capital. Don't let their bargain prices...
