Malton markets are a bit 'hit and miss'. It really depends on which week you arrive what you'll get.
Most weeks there are 4 regular traders: A fruit & veg stall, a large 'one-size-fits-all' style clothing tent, a guy selling prints and pictures, and a plant stall. Occasionally there is a charity table-top stall for the local dog rescue.
Every month there is a Malton Monthly Food Market - generally with local produce and artisan makers taking part. On several weeks through the year there are Food Festivals and other events.

Read moreI didn't go to the market (I went on a Tuesday) there is plenty of parking, free for 2 hours, which gives ample time to buy fresh fruit and vegetables from the lovely greengrocer (Paley's), fantastic bread and cakes from Lutt and Turner, have a bit of lunch at one of the fab cafés, pop to the pet shop and the butchers and go home. Alternatively, pay for parking at Wentworth Street and make a day of it, you could spend hours in Ralph Yates and find stuff that you didn't know that you needed, buy some beautiful plastic free handmade soaps from the Cosy Cottage, pop into the Rusty Fox and browse for ladies clothes.
