Zizzi - Wokingham — Restaurant in England

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Zizzi Pizza in Wokingham with my son. We initially came in just for a takeaway, but my son changed his mind last minute and wanted to sit and enjoy the food inside the restaurant.

Without a moment of hesitation, the incredibly kind and welcoming administrator Praf smiled and said, “No problem at all, you’re very welcome to stay.” It was such a warm and accommodating gesture.

Then came another lovely surprise — the Italian pizzaiolo (pizza chef) kindly offered to make us a fresh new pizza, specifically suited for dining in, as the preparation is slightly different and takes a bit longer. We told him it wasn’t necessary, but he insisted — and honestly, it was such a thoughtful act that really touched us.

But the biggest surprise? When we finished eating, they handed us the original takeaway pizza to go, and didn’t charge us for the one we enjoyed inside the restaurant. We were genuinely shocked — in the best possible way.

This kind of service is rare — it’s what I’d call true WOW-service. Not only was the food delicious, but the kindness, care, and generosity of the staff made it a memorable moment for both me and my son.

We have just had a really good meal at Zizzi Wokingham. We were given a warm welcome and as we arrived at a particularly quiet time we could choose where we wanted to sit. We had the beef short rib calzone and the non gluten sticky pig pizza. There was so much meat on the short rib of beef which was tender and tasty. The non gluten sticky pig pizza was probably one of the best gluten free pizzas I have had! Service was really very good - we were even asked if we'd like more drinks - it should be standard practice but we've been to many places where that hadn't been the case. Finally, we had tesco vouchers but tried to use them at a time when vouchers were excluded. We paid £100 for a meal for 2 adults, and 2 kids. The food was okay, but nothing special. The table felt sticky, and upon leaving we realised they weren't being wiped down between customers. The service was pretty slow, and it just seemed under staffed. We had a 5 minute wait from 2 main meals being bought out, and the remaining 2 coming. On my lasagne dish, there was an old "hot" sticker on my plate which was pretty grim. The menu was okay, and they did make a non vegetarian dish vegetarian for us by leaving out the chicken which was welcomed.
