Came here today for lunch found a seat near the bar and that's when it went downhill. A customer came in from outside to return her drink and asked for a clean glass as hers had something stuck to the outside. Fair enough I would have done the same. The staff member said he would get a new one sent out, he stood and picked off whatever was stuck to the glass and promptly returned it to the customer. Mmm not a good omen. We ordered and paid for our lunch and drinks and waited, I should never sit looking at the kitchen I see the best and worst of kitchen practices. My lunch was sat on the pass waiting for the other plate to be ready consequently when it was eventually served to me it was barely warm with very flabby bacon and over cooked eggs. To top it off where it had been poached it hadn't been drained properly so when I cut into it it was like a waterfall. I did mop it up with a tissue but not a good outcome. The other lunch delivered to us again the eggs were solid. Having spoken to the waitress she offered to get it re-cooked for us, we decided that we would ask for a refund and leave. Not sure they were happy that we were going to leave and wanted to charge us for my half drunk coffee. Will I go back? Very much doubt it. On a positive note interesting menu and great...
Read moreGreat place especially for dog owners. Nice and spacious and when you first enter you get greeted and as it was quiet we could choose where we sat. Dog bowls and fresh water available straight away and also a fresh water tank and glasses for humans too. Tried the sausage and egg muffin and the tapas menu which was 3 items for £13:75. I got chicken wings, calamari and bang bang cauliflower. Really good taste on the bang bang, the wings were standout dish. Super crispy and great flavour to them. The calamari was good also. Friendly staff and reasonably priced However the extras menu needs attention, the prices do not add up. I added sausage which I think was £2.25 and in 95% of restaurants that would mean a portion of 2, however you get 1. £2.25 per sausage is almost criminal. It should be £1.50 max or £2.75 for 2 is fair. Don't struggle to park out the front as their is a great new carpark just been finished out the back at only £1 per hour. Will definitely be back to try some more dishes. Just so happy I have somewhere warm and cosy to sit and relax with my dogs instead of sitting...
Read moreAfter months of walking past, we finally stopped in Carpino Lounge for brunch, with our dog. Love that it's a dog-friendly venue and having a dog menu is a great idea. Really well done. Food for the humans, we were not so thrilled by.
I ordered the Smashed Avocado Brunch (£10.75) but requested no feta be included. My husband ordered the Big Lounge Breakfast (£16.25). Mine looked like the starter to his main, it was even served on a small side plate! It was half a ciabatta roll, probably a quarter of an avocado sliced and scattered thinly over, one cherry tomato cut in half, a poached egg and the rest was red onion and their various sauces. Literally gone in a few bites, like a starter - an incredibly measly serving and nothing like I'd expect when ordering something called "Smashed Avocado Brunch". I left hungry. My husbands Big Lounge Breakfast, whilst 3 times the size of my meal, was described as "underwhelming". Such a shame, as it had a good energy about it and nice decor.
The service was given with a friendly smile and the dog enjoyed his Cumberland...
