Harley’s Bistro & Lounge — Restaurant in Epping Forest

Visited Harley's for the first time. I was awkwardly only one of two customers an hour before closing time however rather than being blasé, they treated me like royalty. All day breakfast was available on the menu which I was craving for.

The decor and ambience is very pleasant and not over the top with outdoor seating available in the warmer climate. However, on a bright day looking in from outside it can look closed due to the moody lighting inside. I would recommend more signage or indication of being open when looking at a glance from outside, especially in colder seasons when outdoor seating is not used.

Overall I was overly impressed by the politeness of the staff, quality of the food and drinks and the speed I got served.

Great food & atmosphere...

I've been to Harley's a few times now and the food is great, with generous portion sizes - thank you. There's always a nice atmosphere and the restaurant is very clean.

The staff are friendly but what lets it down a little is that the service can be slow. It's often hard to attract anyone's attention and drinks always seem to take a long time to arrive or get forgotten, even tap water that has been requested in addition to drinks from the menu. I appreciate that a lot of hard work goes on in restaurants and that is definitely the case at Harley's, maybe a jug of water for the table, would save us asking for a refill...

Ordered the lamb wrap. Looked impressive on plate. The lamb was hard, tough and chewy. Did not taste fresh, more like left overs. The meat is cleverly arranged at the top of the wrap, so three-quarters of it is just packed out with lettuce. I ate fries and tiny side salad. When it came to paying I told the waiter about the lamb who said the dish was their standard size, no response to the taste and toughness. I asked if some money could be taken off, (I had eaten the fries and tiny side salad) I was told he could not as I had not told them before so they could offer me something else.
