Marlos Brasserie — Restaurant in Epping Forest

1st time we went was last year.

We waited about an hour for food and could see other tables waiting the same amount of time. We noticed people being given the wrong order or food being sent to the wrong tables and this happened to us.

We ordered

1. Americano, but instead was given a latte

2. Sailaway wrap - it was meant to come with avocado but didn't and instead came with sundried tomato

3. Salt beef sandwich and chips but the chips never came. We asked again and told they would but they didn't arrive. However was on the bill.

So all in all the 3 items we ordered were unfortunately wrong. Also our food was initially given to the wrong table. We saw this happening so managed to flag down the waitress. As the other table had a salt beef sandwich also they took it and mine came after another delay so my wife and I ended up eating separately.

Portions small. As the picture shows the salt beef had 2 small strips it was mostly bread so in that sense poor value. Never great feeling ripped off. At Olive you get double the meat.

Tried again and year or so later. Waited again an hour for the waitress to come over and say the printer wasn't working so the order didn't go through.

Asked for our toddler just to get avocado on bread because it was getting late and said not to bother with ours. Somehow still took another 10 minutes. Ended up leaving having not eaten.

They did in fairness give our sons food for free and offered to let us having something to take away for free. We declined as we had plans the next day and didn't want to be late.

Today I had the pleasure of dining at Marlos Brasserie, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the warmest smiles and a truly welcoming atmosphere. The staff here are exceptionally friendly, always happy and eager to assist, making you feel like a valued guest rather than just another customer. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality, and it’s clear that the team at Marlos Brasserie takes pride in what they do.

What really stood out was meeting the owner, a truly down-to-earth person who took the time to chat with us. His passion for the restaurant shines through every detail, from the ambiance to the service, making our experience feel even more special.

Now, onto the food – simply outstanding! I started with the halloumi cheese salad, and it was nothing short of perfection. The balance of flavors, the freshness of the ingredients, and the attention to detail made it a dish to remember. My friends opted for the burgers, and I have to say, they were beyond impressed. The taste was absolutely incredible, with every bite better than the last. It's rare to come across food that hits all the right notes, but Marlos Brasserie certainly delivered. We all agreed it was a 10 out of 10 dining experience.

We had an amazing experience. I had messaged them in advance regarding allergens and they really went above and beyond to cater to my needs. The manager ensured my request was handled with care, he came over and asked for me to make sure I was happy with my meal and if my requests were met/if anything else could be done. The service was wonderful , everyone always had a smile on and seemed genuinely happy to serve us and was ready to accommodate any request we had. Tonight was a great experience, 10/10.
