This was the first time here as I saw it was recommended by the locals in Epping. Upon coming in the interior was very homely and the atmosphere was really nice.
We were placed on the inside by the window which was very breezy and the lighting was very nice. The menu has a selection to choose from breakfast, burgers, wraps, pasta, desserts, sides. (Huge selection)
The food tasted delicious and the presentation was perfect it made me more hungry looking at it. The portions are very generous and the quality of the plate was lovely. Me and my friends had ordered the following: Crispy Chicken burger, English breakfast and Poppy breaky (French toast). As for the drinks the order was Flat white Groovy Green smoothie, fresh orange juice.
The only let down was the service. It was a struggle to flag down any waitress here to order our food and then once again to pay for the food. I felt like they has many staff inside but hardly any waitress's. We had to go to the front desk to pay where we stood for a few minutes before we were acknowledged.
Minus the service I actually really enjoyed the food. We would definitely recommend and come back once again. The quality of everything was really fresh. The orange was freshly squeezed through a machine which was visible. The shop was decorated modern but with a rustic feel. The restaurant was decent sized and the place was full of customers who had already had their food or just popped in for a...
Read moreI went to this cafe because online the menu appeared extremely good value for money. The reviews also suggested that the staff were friendly and this cafe had a pleasant atmosphere. I preface this review by saying that my sister and I often go to local cafes and are both very polite and quiet people, so never have any problems at places and don't expect extravagant food either. First of all my sisters ordered came out wrong. This was not an issue, however when corrected she was accused of lying by all staff members, including strangely the chef and a woman who didn't take the order. Then when her food arrived, rather than two sausages, she got one which was cut in half, and the french toast she ordered was very minimal. Overall however the food was ok at best. The worst part of this cafe is nevertheless the customer service and experience. Staff were miserable and rude and were not welcoming whatsoever. After leaving the cafe we expected that we were overcharged. Upon returning to the café to question this, it turned out that the menu in the store is much more expensive than expected, and our £20 expectation actually costed £35. At this stage staff were again stand-offish and glared at us both, apart from the younger boy who helped us with the issue. We were still polite even at this point however and as a result of this experience, will not be returning and I hope those who read this will treat this cafe similarly, as it is not...
Read moreHad a really bad experience here for our 21st birthday lunch for six. It started when the table wasn't ready so we had to wait . There were intensive building works going on at the restaurant which we wasn't told about when we booked ,we were eventually seated and ordered, the building work continued.. It was at this time the heavy duty drills came out and the drilling started less than 3 ft from where I was sat on the outside of the building. It was so loud we couldn't hold a conversation I then asked to be moved. It then got worse. The building continued to the room directly above where we were now food arrived and looked delicious, unfortunately for us again the drilling started above our heads again and then the dust and plaster proceeded to fall from the celling onto us and our food. We were offered freshly cooked meals again but we were all well p*ssed off by this time and declined. We've been coming here for around 10 years and expected a bit more from the owners. Food is always great but this time the whole experience wes terrible. We were offered a "few beers" as a gesture, but by then it was too late. Overall very very disappointed and a ruined 21st...
