CYRA LOUNGE(formerly known as Miniature Restaurant) — Restaurant in Epsom and Ewell

(Posting on behalf of my Brother in Law).

I left my details a moment ago. We spent £82 for what we thought would be enough for at least 6-7 people, however, the portions were extremely small. I have come to Miniature for 6 years now and always come from Manchester to treat my family for some Arabic food, however, I will be honest and advise that the portion sizes and quality of food has really gone down hill. I rang one of your colleagues and advised that they apologise and that next time “you will look after me”. Surely this is what you should do to all customers, long standing or new. As such, I may not come back as the experience was not a great one for the amount we paid - unless I receive a part discount for the lack of food we received, we won’t be coming back again, and there won’t be a next time unfortunately. P.S - I spoke to your colleague and they advised that the mixed grill for 4 would be MORE than enough for at least 4 people. We then ordered an additional dish just to make sure there was enough food - I am merely advising that £82 for 4-5 people is a lot. Doesn’t sound like you’re going to look after us at all. Hands down the worst meal out I've ever had. Absolute chaos in here last night. Staff were clueless and useless. We sat down and ordered our drinks. The drinks were wrong. We then ordered a calamari starter. We waited 45 minutes for this to come out. However it didn’t take 45 minutes because they gave it to the wrong table! They realised after it was there for 5 minutes as we watched the bloke tell them it wasn’t their food. They then picked it up and plonked it down on our table! We sat and waited for another hour waiting for our main courses to arrive. In this time we watched a couple get up and leave and a family of five not receive a single bit of food. They had young children with them and it was now approaching 9:30. They cleared our empty drink glasses away but didn’t ask if we wanted another drink. The mains finally came but had to ask where it was numerous times. We quickly ate the meal so we could get out of here as quickly as possible. The bill came and they had the cheek to add service charge. I never question service charge and am always happy to pay it. However tonight took the piss. Would not recommend this place to anyone. CHEWING GUM IN MY BEER!!!

Visited on the last day of lockdown after looking at the reviews and the look of the restaurant which was promising.

Sat down and wasnt greeted for a drink, until we called the waitress over. This was 25 minutes after we sat down.

The starters came shortly after and were okay. However, when I ordered my peroni there was a white object floating in it. This turned out to be dry chewing gum that clearly came from another customer.

I asked for the manager who then started arguing with me and said "well you didnt book a table and showed up last minute" I did book a table and they didnt even realise. The photo proves this. The manager was argumentative and said "well what do you want me to do about it" With Covid about this is disgusting, another customers chewing gum ended up in my drink. Totally unacceptable and the rude manager topped this off.
