I left Epsom to return to Scotland about a year ago just as Gail's opened in Epsom. We used to go to Cobham every Saturday morning. Food was great, store was buzzing but small and there was always a fight for a seat. On Sunday morning I visited with my daughter, as usual the staff were upbeat, but what happened next blew my mind. I'm Scottish and quite mischievous, I asked if my coffee could be a tad hotter as I would devour it too quick at normal temperature. The lady explained the milk could be made hotter. Mischievously I asked if I could have me extra hot coffee in a takeaway cup but sit inside, the lady looked me in the eye and said, of course. I then said wait, I won't get my leaf design on top, could I have my leaf design on a knapkin to take away please, this lady looked me in the eye and stated, I'll consult with my colleagues, but, I don't see it as a problem. Embarrassingly I said, I'm only teasing, this lady looked me in the eye again and said, we do like a challenge. My daughter returned with my coffee in a takeaway cup, (perfect temperature). She had a knapkin with the leaf, stating, it was a team effort. The lady came by asking if everything was OK? I truly had been taught a lesson. I forgot to take her name, but I hope reading this you delivered awesomeness on Sunday, I'm no spring chicken, age wise but you delivered what can only be described as one of the greatest customer service acts I have ever witnessed. I will be back and Gail's (Epsom) will be my first stop for a coffee....
Read moreWe have had a fantastic experience with every GAIL's we have visited, and the new Epsom branch certainly lives up to the mark The food and drinks are excellent, the staff are friendly and patient (we have two young kids and as a result can take a while to come to a decision on what everybody wants!) and the restaurant was clean and well maintained. I always recommend the chocolate babka loaf and it was fresh and delicious. Our kids particularly enjoyed their cookie and cinnamon swirl that they shared alongside their babyccinos (the temperature of which was perfect for them). The only issue I have is that my waistline might not enjoy this new branch as much as I know my taste buds will! In all seriousness, this is a fantastic place for a bite to eat and you should...
Read moreWe stopped today for a bite to eat while travelling through Epsom. Bought a coffee and hot bevarage for my son and went for a round bun with blueberries and custard which was very tasty and I would definatelly come back for more soon! We loved the spaciousness of this place.. Finally I don't have to overhear conversations of neighouring tables! Staff was so polite and attentive, was lucky as it was not too busy today, our coffee was quickly done and frothing - was just perfect for my liking! My son absolutely loved his Cinnamon Chai Latte and he is not easy to please.. We also bough 2 loafs of Sourdough bread and some buns to go on our way out.
All in all, really pleased and pleasantly surprised with the experience! Looking forward to going back...
