Went for a family meal and have never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant. After sitting down (other family were already at table) no one came to see to us. After waiting, we called over one of the servers who was not welcoming at all, it felt like us being there was an inconvenience. We then had to ask for menus as these were not given to us. Once we ordered, the food arrived. The starters were shocking, small and very overpriced (£8 for mozzarella sticks which were tastless) The pizza, it was OK, not amazing, but OK. We had to get up and get black pepper ourselves, our empty glasses were left on the table, we were never asked if we wanted drinks, had to ask again. For the prices you charge, a smile, a warmth and welcoming would be nice. We were a large group spending alot of money in your restaurant. When we received our bill, a service charge was added, I believe this worked out at £45. Did we get £45 worth of service? absolutely not. I am unsure if your staff are overworked, understaffed, or just lack warmth when dealing with a larger booking. Instead of feeling happy after a celebration meal, we felt frustrated. Service is a big part of dinning out, when the cost to do so is high, you wish for a pleasant experience when treating yourself. Your staff did not make us feel this way, and I feel a little more attention and attentiveness would be beneficial. Do not make your customers feel they are an inconvenience. Our group was nothing but pleasant and well mannered to your staff. When you charge the prices you charge, you need to ensure your service warrants that as the food fosnt warrant the prices thst...
Read moreThis is a review of their delivery service; we dine in regularly and have a different story for that. The kids love the food so we go there often, but now the kids like to get pizza express delivered too. The delivery is hit and miss, sometimes good, sometimes bad and yesterday was the final straw for me, as we waited nearly 90 mins for our food to arrive and when it did you could tell that my pizza was reheated; it wasn't easy to chew and didn't match the quality you get if you dine in. We had 5 different Uber drivers "collecting your order" and it was impossible to speak to anyone at the restaurant as you went to voicemail; I was half-tempted to walk into town at one point and collect the order myself. I rarely write reviews, but we've had a few bad experiences with delivery now and each time we've forgiven them as the dine-in experience is decent, but I've had enough. People deserve to know how bad the delivery is and Pizza Express need to change: sack Uber and get reliable drivers and stop taking delivery orders if your kitchen is overwhelmed. Better still, stick at what your good at, the restaurant experience. Until then I'd rather choose Dominos as at least you know you'll get your food fresh...
Read moreVisited pizza Express yesterday with my daughter her husband and 3 children, we were seated on the round table by the window, seats looked like they hadn’t been cleaned or wiped down in a long time, didn’t even want to sit down to be honest, we ordered some drinks, the first waitress was a lady with glasses, very professional and polite, but not much of a welcoming, we was then served by a little guy, very grumpy, Rude, no time for us at all, looked like he didn’t even want to be there, everything seemed to be a effort for him, my grandson ( aged 6 ) asked a him a question and he walked off before my grandson could even finish the question, ( so so rude ) and the service from him didn’t get no better from there on, my daughter and her husband were amazed by this, to be honest was one of the worst places I’ve ever taken my family to eat, even after paying the bill, no thank you or bye, no thanks for coming, he just walks off, Absolutely Terrible. Worst £100.00 I’ve ever spent. 0 ⭐️ I never like to leave negative feedback, I always like to praise and promote a business,( sorry guys )...
