Please note that I am reviewing the restaurant. I went here for a meal one Saturday evening with some friends, after EVENTUALLY being able to book a table. I say eventually, as we had trouble contacting them by phone (no one picked up multiple times), and when I left them a WhatsApp message, it was totally ignored. We finally got a friend to pop down there in person to book, and they weren't that helpful...BUT they managed to fit us in for 8pm after making their minds up what they were doing and being a bit funny about it. There were 3 of us, and we all chose the Canrivore Apetite at £17.99 which came with a choice of steak, so either ribeye or t-bone, accompanied by some thick bacon pieces, smoked sausage, fried cassava, salad and a bowl of rice each. Two of us ordered the t-bone, but when the dishes turned up, we had 3 ribeyes, so I asked the table server what was going on, and he said, "Sorry, we only have ribeye". The fact that he didn't tell us this actually rather annoyed me...and it's very poor customer service. We ate the ribeyes anyway, but it's not the way it's done, I'm afraid. Also, I don't believe for a moment that a butcher's and grill house doesn't have any t-bone steaks on a busy Saturday evening, and I get the impression that they were holding them back for all the Brazilian booked customers, who funnily enough turned up shortly after we finished our meal and were probably there for the dance club downstairs too...as the cocktails were flying out of the pass at the bar faster than you could say "I'll have sex on the beach, please." So yeah, this is why I'm only giving it 3 stars...the food that I had was very good, and I enjoyed the whole dish, even the ribeye...and the price was good value for money. They just need to work on their customer service as I find this establishment to be more style over substance. It seems to be more oriented towards partying than serving people food, sadly. I would go back on another Saturday night just to see if they'd serve me that...
Read moreI made a booking for 4 on Sunday 10th November for members of my family to attend on Monday 11th November at 5:30pm. When I called to say we would be 5 minutes late due to being caught in rush hour traffic I was advised that the kitchen closed at 5pm but the shop remained open until 6:30pm. There had clearly been a mistake by whoever took the booking the day before. I was understandably surprised and disappointed at being placed In this situation, especially as when I made the booking I had clearly explained it was part of a family celebration. To add insult to injury, the person I was speaking with on the phone said he was the manager!! When I explained that I had made the booking the day before and had been clear on the time due to my daughter meeting us after work, instead of apologising for their error the manager just continually said the kitchen was closed, and added that the booking had been placed on a different day, which I found ridiculous but which he found funny as he was laughing!! This reaction showed a clear lack of understanding of the position their mistake had caused me. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour and I do not intend to visit this establishment in the future. . Luckily we were able to get a table for 4 at a different local restaurant and enjoyed the rest of our evening at an establishment who valued our custom. I had pre purchased Groupon vouchers and have applied for a full refund as I don’t intend visiting this rude and chaotic establishment in the future.. What type of restaurant...
Read moreMy recent visit was unfortunately marred by a disappointing experience, prompting me to share my concerns.
The service received was below expectations, and the issue escalated when it came time to settle the bill. I was shocked to discover approximately an additional £50 charged, as the waiter had inaccurately input our order. We had specifically ordered a butcher special, a pork chop, and a picanha. However, the bill listed a mixed grill, which costs £50, and to add to the confusion, the pork chops were missing, replaced only by rice and salad.
Despite our dissatisfaction, I chose not to make a scene in front of my family, as this meal was intended as a special treat. However, the discrepancies between what we ordered and what was charged left us feeling thoroughly disappointed.
Given this unfortunate experience, I regret to say that I won't be returning to Prestige Butcher, even though I am a local resident. The combination of service issues, billing errors, and missing items has left a lasting negative impression.
In conclusion, I hope this review serves as constructive feedback to address these issues and enhance the overall dining experience for...
