Ordered through uber eat. The food was tasty but there’s safety risk! There was a piece of sharp, hard and dirty plastic chip inside one of the dish! I found it when I was eating and had to spit it out. It could definitely choke people and cause injury and the food of cause was contaminated!

Had an enjoyable curry here, which was excellent value for money. Portions were generous and the menu offered a good range of options. Whilst this wasn't the best curry I'd ever had, it was affordable and plentiful, which after a few beers, really hit the spot.

I have come to Exeter staying over for work purposes and Mr Shohid and other staff at Curry King has provided me with excellent service and communication every time I have phoned up to place an order, the food is always hot and good quality.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! They have absolutely no regard for food allergies and treat customers with shocking disrespect. Nowhere on the menu does it mention that their butter chicken contains coconut—a completely unnecessary and unexpected ingredient in this dish. Yet, the incredibly rude manager expected us to magically know that “mild” = coconut. How on earth is that common knowledge?!

Being Indian myself, I know how butter chicken is traditionally made, and coconut is NOT part of it. When my dish finally arrived after 30 minutes, I immediately noticed something was off—a strange, creamy white layer on top. Suspicious, I asked a friend to taste it, and sure enough, it contained coconut—an ingredient I’m allergic to.

We politely requested a replacement, only to be met with the manager’s hostile attitude and zero apology. Instead, he got defensive, angry for no reason, and told us the dish would have to be thrown away—something completely normal in the hospitality industry when dealing with food allergies. His rudeness, aggressive body language, and condescending tone were beyond unacceptable. It was so bad that we decided to leave without touching the rest of our meal.

To make things worse, the manager shamelessly handed us the bill without a single apology. When we confronted him about his behavior, he arrogantly doubled down, insisting he would continue speaking that way because "his behavior is not his problem." He kept justifying that everyone should somehow just "know" that mild means coconut! Apparently, at Curry King, they expect their customers to be mind readers.

The complete lack of professionalism, empathy, and basic customer service was appalling. If you have allergies, dietary restrictions, or simply expect to be treated with basic decency—STAY FAR AWAY...

Manager 0 / 5 Food 3 / 5 Deep (Kitchen staff) 5 / 5

An extremely disappointing visit to Curry King in Devon. The customer service was the worst I've ever experienced. The manager's attitude was rude and unwelcoming from the start. It felt as though he had no interest in maintaining a good dining experience and instead rushed us through ordering.

In contrast, the kitchen team member Deep was extremely polite and apologised for managers primitive behaviour. Really wanted to give Deep some tip but I was worried that the nutcase manager would tell him off too! What a tool that guy was! He needs to manage himself first then try to manage people!

When we tried to order more, he scolded us for not ordering earlier. The decision to charge £0.85 for each foil container was puzzling and felt like an unnecessary money grab.

The manager's inability to handle criticism was evident when we questioned his behavior and approach. His sarcastic "thank you" as we left only added to the negative encounter.

I left the restaurant feeling frustrated and disheartened. To make matters worse, the food was disappointingly basic.

This experience left a lot to be desired, and I hope that Curry King takes these criticisms seriously for the sake of...

We have been using this takeaway since our local closed a couple of years ago and to be fair we have had no issues. its a bit of a journey but we have always thought it worth it. Last evening Sat 12\10\2019 we ordered our usual Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Balti. We ordered on the website and was told a 50 minute wait, fair enough on a Saturday night. I eventually collected the order an hour and a half later. There seemed some confusion as to where I had ordered from but that was soon sorted. When I got the order home and we started to eat we both found that both dishes where bland the Tikka tasted of nothing but Ketchup and cream the Balti (apart from only being half a container) had no spices in at all in fact the only spice I came across was a clove that had been left in the rather odd looking rice. Overall we are both very disappointed and would have returned both dishes if it was not so far away. Goes without saying will not be using this curry house again. I have given two stars only for the politeness of the staff. Otherwise it would...
