Ironmaster Fareham — Restaurant in Fareham

This pub used to be called the Brass monkey!! it had a bad name for one reason or another, after that with a few different bar managers and a name change "ironmaster" it redeemed it self it became a family friendly Dog friendly bar that sold food now that the union pub corp has taken it over it is none of these and with a new manager it is fast becoming a complete dive again and we are talking within a month of new manager. They advertise sky sports but not put commentary on. the manager leaves a woman on her first shift in a packed bar by her self and totally losing the plot, the bar manager refusing to come help woman behind bar so he can watch his spurs play and in the end the bar girl downing tools to go out and have a joint with people waiting at the bar!! so now a family friendly pub sells no food doesn't want kids or pets a has druggies bar staff. stay away...

3 of us came in for a drink and we got told they didn’t serve food so we left to go elsewhere for food. We came back less than 20 minutes later and set up the pool table while one of us went to the toilet thinking we would order drinks once they come out. A very rude female bar tender then came over in a strut and started telling us that it’s a pub not a social club and are we even old enough to drink, i politely told her that i can show her my ID if needed and we came in for drinks not long ago. Our third then came out and asked what we want to drink and the woman then walked off.

Very unhappy with my time spent here and definitely will not be coming back. this isn’t even to mention the loud drunk people who were shouting in...

[added oct'18] prices have gone up a lot, with 2 wetherspoons close by is that a good move? been a few times and it was very quiet in there [added apr'18] we have now tried the food, from both lunchtime and dinner menus, and it was very good. the manageress/landlady was eager to see that everything was up to spec which it was, so I boosted it to 5*. probably our favourite Fareham pub now. [old review]much better now, pleasant staff, clean and pretty smart inside, good selection of beers some well known and some trendy artisan stuff. I haven't tried the food yet, by the look of it theyre concentrating on doing a smaller menu well rather than a big selection of mostly rubbish which is a good thing. what ive seen looked...
