Cappuccino coffees, sausage bap and toast eaten in. Tasty bun, two slices of toast perhaps needs more butter and jam. Coffee nice and strong all delivered to your table after ordering. Lovely staff always friendly and informative. More of a coffee experience than the Costa opposite in the main precinct. Moderate noise for time of day at 1100 but it sure gets busy around this time.
UPDATE: Shame really. Weeks on and a rare Sunday lunch time visit. Not as busy as we thought. Noticed that there was very few available cakes for sale as we entered. Tables available but the only 4 seater was still covered in left overs. Sat there a while and somebody came to remove plates etc. They didn't come back to clean the table however. Ended up cleaning it ourselves as it seemed that they were short staffed. Not to clean under the table either. Clods of earth everywhere. Lack of mature staff maybe, but when it comes to a Sunday it should have the same experience as a weekday. Coffee still...

We were really missing a high quality coffee shop in the local area and the Oaty Goat easily rivals places like Josies in Bishops Waltham.
Food is very good, reasonably priced and nicely presented. The menu is not overly complex, but covers the essentials and caters to those with dietary requirements.
Coffee and cake selection is very good, drinks served promptly whilst hot.
Only negative is the popularity of the place! It can be difficult to get a table at peak times, however the Oaty Goat is doing its best to stop those working remotely from hogging entire tables āworkingā whilst nursing a single coffee for hours on end. Signs ask these people to politely avoid taking up tables at peak breakfast and lunch times - a very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThere is so much good emanating from the Oaty Goat in Locks Heath Centre. This independent cafe/bistro is a delight, whether having a coffee and generous slice of delicious cake or a brunch via a varied menu that is cooked fresh and to order. Been a few times now, a good recommend by itself, but the food is lovely, fresh and very moreish - and set in a well designed seating area that even welcomes well behaved dogs, bonus. All the staff are very attentive and inly too willing to help, whatever the issue. The smashed avo on sourdough is great, the bacon rolls terrific, the panini with that spicy beef stuff was sublime. It is now our regular go-to cafe as it's a nice walk for the dog and an excellent menu to choose from. And the price is right,...
