So didn’t have a booking but turned up at 8.30pm. Was told it would be mains only, which was fine as we were in a hurry and starving. The restaurant was pretty empty and also very cold . Felt as though the heating was broken. Food came out particularly quickly which was the first red flag. Rice and sauce luke warm at best, but the most disappointing thing was the very tough hard blocks of chicken. Was with a new colleague so didn’t want to create a fuss at the time but half way through we both acknowledged that the dishes were not to standard . The server had not returned to check on us after leaving the plates so neither of us could complain at the time . We ate most of it cause we were on the go all day without anything to eat . The server then returned to ask if everything was ok, we raised our concerns by way of giving some constructive feedback and off he went to fetch the owner. We didn’t wait and proceed to the till to pay, I paid £57.35 for 2 mains 2 rice 2 naan and 2 drinks. I never questioned paying because I ate most of it. However, the most shocking treatment then occurred with the owner. We told him about our experience of luke warm food and tough chicken and he basically told us you should have complained at the time. Now considering I had already paid my bill, I wasn’t looking a refund. I then got told about how he was in business 30 years and had multiple restaurants and that everything they cook is fresh. I’m sorry our dishes were not fresh tonight. As someone who eats out regularly I very rarely need to complain but this place totally let themselves down this evening and I will certainly...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Kamal Mahal Indian Restaurant on a Saturday night, and I can't say enough good things about my experience! The buffet was absolutely fantastic, offering a wide variety of authentic Indian dishes that catered to all tastes. Each item was bursting with flavour, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to quality and tradition.
What truly stood out was the exceptional service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely eager to ensure that our dining experience was enjoyable. They made us feel welcomed and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs.
Considering the quality of the food and the level of service, the buffet was an incredible value. I left feeling satisfied and eager to return for another delicious meal. If you're looking for a delightful Indian dining experience, I highly recommend...
Read moreThe buffet overall was quite good friendly staff and offered a decent variety. As a vegetarian, I appreciated the effort, but I did feel the vegetarian options could have been better balanced. There were only two vegetarian starters and two veg main dishes — Chana Masala and Aloo — whereas non-vegetarians had a much wider selection with around 4 starters and 10 main course items.
Adding one or two more popular vegetarian items like Chilli Gobi or a paneer dish would elevate the experience for vegetarians, especially considering the vegetarian price is £17.99 (compared to £22.99 for non-veg).
The dessert selection was nice, and it would’ve been even better if a simple option like vanilla ice cream was included too.
Overall, a good place, but I hope to see a bit more balance in the vegetarian offerings in...
