From arrival, the staff were very helpful, kind and friendly. I needed to explain my 14 year old had food sensory issues and they happily let her pick off the child menu instead (plainer food, less fancy :)). I was so thankful for this as other places haven't allowed this and it usually results in me ordering just a plate of chips for her!! Bear Lodge was so understanding and I am very thankful for that. We had dinner here during our over night stay. The view from the restaurant was stunning. We were greeted and served by efficient, well presented and professional staff who were friendly and quick to notice when we were ready for another drink or next course. The restaurant was spacious and although we were sat near children/ large family the tables were spaced apart enough for them to not be a distraction. We shared the nachos to start and then the curry and ribs as mains which were cooked to perfection and very tasty. The rib meat fell away from the bone. We had a lovely meal at the Bear lodge! We were met by a lovely member of staff who knew we were celebrating and offered us a free cocktail for the occasion! Restaurant is set in the Bear lodge camp of the zoo. Great choice of food which was really delicious! All staff members were really friendly and attentive. We were so glad we chose the Bear lodge over the Garden room due to the poor reviews of the Garden room and bad service we had experienced there for breakfast then next day!
