Just delicious — Restaurant in Gedling

I went to the cafe at approximately 3:00pm on Friday 2nd February and a female customer was sitting there with a strong faecal smell.

When the customer left, the female staff member sprayed the area with air spray. The member of staff apologised, informed me that the customer visits nearly every day and that she has refunded previous customers due to the smell.

Unfortunately, she had not wiped or cleaned the chair or table where the customer was sitting. I was there for 10-15 minutes after the customer had left. The chair and table were just left for other people to use. In fact, one gentleman had used the table to sort his shopping bags out.

On leaving the cafe, I complained to the female staff member and asked why her seating area wasn't disinfected. The staff member responded saying that they were busy because the cafe closed at 4:00pm (this wasn't true because the cafe was empty). I had the impression that she felt that her role was to cook and sell, not clean.

Obviously, there was a strong chance that the customer left bacteria or faecal matter on the surface and this would have put people's health at risk.

The staff member also argued that she couldn't simply refuse to serve the customer. Unfortunately, Just Delicious has bread and cakes in open air sale. Therefore, any airborne bacteria would have contaminated the food.

I have visited Just Delicious many times between 2-3pm only to find the seating area dirty with food. I have also witnessed customers pick up unwrapped bread and put it back.

I just do not think Just Delicious have the staff who care anymore. They seem to just want to sell and not clean until closing time. Unfortunately, the lack of cleanliness is putting people's...

I've never really been in before due to not living in the area, however I often pass by when heading into town. But I hadn't had any breakfast and was getting an MOT done closeby. The food was great: the egg was sealed on top but the yolk still runny; the mushrooms were a decent portion and actually hot, a lot of places seem to keep them at room temp; and the sausage wasn't overdone. I clearly had not popped in at a busy time, and I think that may have affected the atmosphere a little, as while I immediately found a place to sit, I felt as though I was not experiencing the place at full bore. This is a great little Bakery! These are few and far between. The fresh bread is soft and light not like your usual stodgy stuff you get from the leading supermarkets. The savoury pasties are available hot or cold and are reasonably priced. Good selection of the old skool cakes like Butterscotch Tart, Cornflake Tart etc..
