Disappointing Experience – Won’t Be Returning
We had high hopes for this Italian restaurant, but unfortunately, the entire experience was a letdown from start to finish. The service was poor, with the waitress coming across as rude and uninterested, which set the tone for the rest of the evening.
The food did nothing to redeem the atmosphere. The garlic mushroom starter was clearly microwaved—cold around the edges and lacking any real flavour. The garlic bread was limp and soggy, and the arancini were mushy and unpleasant in texture.
Both spaghetti bolognese dishes we ordered appeared to have been microwaved as well, lacking freshness and served at inconsistent temperatures. The Pollo Dianna was another disappointment: the vegetables were clearly microwaved, watery and borderline raw, and the sauce had developed an unappetizing skin. The chicken itself was tough and dry.
The only redeeming item was the chips, which were actually cooked decently—though they were served cold, which unfortunately ruined even that small positive.
Altogether, it was a very poor experience, and we won’t be coming back. There are far better places around for Italian food that actually care about quality...
Read moreSad to say it was very average. We visited for my wife's birthday after glowing reviews from friends and family. It was quite busy for 7pm on a Thursday but we didn't mind that. Our starters were, for the price, quite disappointing. My spicy 'king' prawns were tiny and lacked flavour, on a bed of wet leaves. My wife's antipasti was mostly salad with a few slices of meat. My wife ordered a special, a delicious-soundjng tomato prawn spaghetti. It turned out to be bland prawns in a tasteless sauce. My main was delicious, ham and cheese tortellini in a corbonara sauce.
The staff were clearly too busy and took a while to collect our plates. They also didn't offer us the dessert menu or offer to bring the bill. We sat waiting for about 15 minutes, during which time one of the staff looked over at us a few times but didn't come over. In the end I had to ask for the bill at the bar.
Considering the recommendations from friends we were really disappointed. Authentic, non-chain Italian restaurants are hard to find and we were hoping Luigi's would become our regular. We will try again another time, hopefully we have a...
Read moreI genuinely never review and usually just take it as an unfortunate event and move on. So please understand when i say AVOID!!!!
I actually booked here due to the reviews, and I honestly feel robbed.
The food wasn't worth the money. I've had better in a wetherspoons. It was dry and over cooked, with very little flavour. The service was worse. The waitresses were unwelcoming and sour. Myself and the people I came with felt that we were more of a hindrance than a paying customer. They didn't check on us at any point of the meal and only came over when we had been done for a significant amount of time. The restaurant was relatively quiet and the girls spent majority of their time just chatting amongst themselves near the kitchen.
We were also charged for things we didn't have, which I will give them credit, they did rectify.
I am honestly so disappointed that this was my experience. I just hope no one else goes through this.
Luigi's...
