Emilios Greek Restaurant — Restaurant in Gedling

Love the back story to this authentic Greek... Emilios is an endearing character and proud to say that he has provided amazing food for 30 years on 23rd July this year.. It was no busy when we went but the restaurant is set up for the dancing and plate smashing oopaaa events. Probably makes for a totally enjoyable time.

We chose the Meze to take us back to our holidays in Greece. The first courses were honestly average but nice all the same. Our chicken skewers were super tender and flavored beautifully. The Beef Stifado is just sublime!! Totally soft steak meat clearly cooked the way it should... time served. Emilios brought out his 'todays batch' sample which tasted so differently to the wonderfully matured version. Amazing! To top the food right up in our belly's, we were presented with the incredible Baklava... OMG! Just go and ask for that if you like this dish.... It's the best we have had!! I think we might book a table for his 30th Anniversary night... 🤔

Parking is easy either on the road or out behind the shops opposite....

Had a great time for my friend Carols birthday. Myself and several Get Fit Nottingham walkers were invited. The food didn't seem very authentic in my limited experience of Greek food. It was more like a pub lamb shank than Greek stifado which I chose from the menu wanting an authentic experience. The entrainment is very good. The dancers are skilled at getting everyone in the mood for dancing and the DJ knows what will get people up on the dance floor. It is professionally run and an excellent choice for special birthdays. I'd say it is a fun night out for all ages. Cost was £22 for a small calamari starter and the Greek lamb shank. Drink prices were reasonable. Staff were polite and friendly. Table service was efficient and friendly as well. Maybe the restaurant is catering to the tastes of their clientele when it comes to more British versions of Greek dishes but I couldn't fault the entertainment afterwards. Toilets are small (only one sink and a weak hand...

Went for my father's birthday 27/03/2024. Greeted by, who I assume, was the owner. Extremely lovely gentleman who seemed to truly enjoy being there. Chatty and overall a pleasure to be around.

Starters were delicious. We had a variety of starters between the 4 but the bread and humous were shared amongst us all. We all enjoyed.

Noted some of the mains were cold. Personally, I did not find the vegetarian moussaka wasn't very flavourful and could maybe use more sauce. My sibling's steak was only 3 pieces of meat rather than a full steak, which is a shame because he said it was the best steak he'd had - in spite of there being so little.

Sibling and mother had desserts and enjoyed them. Would've liked more cream with them, but overall enjoyed them.
