The experience at Birds shops and cafés gets worse and worse. This particular shop is the one I tend to visit with my elderly aunt because I can still get a toastie, and she likes her farmhouse thinly sliced. Today will be the last time we'll eat there. It's unbelievable how down market this brand is becoming. There's less bread to buy there nowadays, but you now have to eat off a paper bag and drink out of a paper cup. So much for saving the planet! A much loved place & somewhere that was always guaranteed to serve quality at a decent price is fast becoming a downmarket, tacky version of itself. I've no idea what the senior management team is thinking of, but if anyone opens up something that offers similar to the previous standards of Birds, watch people vote with their feet. Message to the staff: there's no need to shout across the shop! Other than that, I feel for the staff. It must be awful to watch the decline of Birds....

I was intending to purchase few things after as I would not buy anything and use the toilet taking the food in with me, being violently sick. The moment Iâve heard they didnât think I would buy anything, it really put me off not only from buying but even coming there again. All the ladies should stop assuming and giving dirty looks because they donât know what situations they are, go and get proper customer service training as the one theyâve got is appalling.
