McDonald's — Restaurant in Gloucester

It was alright. The lady at the first window was friendly enough...but the word no comes so easily to McDonald's staff now. No to BBQ sauce, no to milkshakes...which is a very common answer at McDonald's restaurants. I saw the duty manager talking to a colleague, whose earpiece was flashing red indicating a possible phone call? He said "don't answer it".

Having tried to order food to be delivered from this branch twice before and having twice failed I do wonder about the standard of service at this branch...questionable at best. Now I know they're busy but providing a decent customer experience is what McDonald's used to be all about, but sadly here it seems not to be the case anymore. Glad my kids are all grown up.

The nuggets & chips were OK 👍.

Haven't been into McDonald's since my last review. This time December 2022, the chap on the first window was helpful enough as the intercom wasn't working or wasn't being used. There was a long wait once we'd ordered and what was a small queue when we arrived was a long queue when we left. The chap on the second window was very helpful and polite and explained that he'd bring our order over if we'd be happy to wait in the car park. It took around 15 minutes in total from placing our order to when we eventually got it, which isn't particularly quick for a large portion of fries, 20 nuggets and a strawberry shake - which was like milk when the nuggets eventually arrived. So overall a polite service...

Absolutely horrendous levels of service from this McDonald's. Food missing from order, had to drive back only to be told they would do nothing! Ended up Speaking to 'Mike' the duty 'manager' who was arrogant rude and obnoxious and treated me as if I was being deceitful and lying. It's not hard to get an order right. It's even easier for a 'manager' to put it right! I understand that most people working in McDonald's do not care about their product or good customer service. But at least put all the food in the bag, put some straws and tissues in the bag. I understand that the food will be cold by the time I eat it but that what microwaves were invented for(to reheat McDonald's!) I know the food never looks like it does in the glossy pictures but instead looks like next doors dog put it together then someone in the kitchen gives it a punch ot two but at least give your customers all the food they ordered so they can be disgusted with themselves for ordering it, paying for it then eating it! From my experience at this restaurant and as a proper manager myself, I am qualified in saying I believe that from the management down all staff here are in a dire need of retraining. This has to be one of the worst run McDonalds in the country. Tonight come to about drive thru about 10.45pm…. About six staff outside chatting and smoking/vaping out the back door. Not sure if an audio problem with head set but had to repeat the order multiply times (“we have no shakes” - no apology) and they still got it wrong when got to the window. When I explained what was incorrect just got huffed by the young staff member, it was then corrected and I paid (no Thank You).

Second window…. You’ll need to park up. Fine…. Lovely fresh food coming!

20 minutes later - food comes and it’s all luke warm at best! So what have they done for the last 20 minutes whilst I’m parked up, car park is empty, about ten people sat inside eating and a few delivery drivers (one of the drivers in frustration even punched a window)? Maybe having the whole team out the back on break together wasn’t such a great idea?

I wonder if the franchises actually read these reviews as a clear theme over the last few months in particular? Visit a few different McDonalds around and this was one of the best - friendly staff, quick service, hot food! Not sure what’s happened the last couple of visits as always awful.
