I finally popped my Tim Hortons cherry this week in Broughton. Our cravings after didn't stop! So on our way back to Devon, we stopped off in Gloucestershire! Gave us another 3 hours back, plus it was lunch time. It was pretty easy to find. Again, before we entered, greeted with the smell of fresh doughnuts and coffee, such a beautiful aroma, one that makes my wallet become lighter... Having tried the hot dog previously, it was time to try my speciality burgers. The premises were so spacious, airy and bright. Looks like a lovely place to dine. Looked very clean and even though it was lunch time, it was calm and not too many people were in. I picked the nacho chilli cheese burger meal, of course I got the maple latte, large as... its amazing. I decided to get a travel cup, as I have a child's bladder and didn't want to be caught short. I got another apple and caramel fritter, as I couldn't stop dreaming of them! They are out of this world! Waiting for my order with my friends (we ordered separately), my order number was called, I picked up my order, the server gave me the Chipotle mayo. I waited for a few seconds, the seconds turned to a minute. I approached the server again, asking for my travel cup, which I wasn't given. He just pointed to the display, didn't say a word. I asked, "do I just take one?". He looked at me confused and just nodded slowly. Not a lot of security towards the merchandise, anyone one could pick up the merch and the staff would be none the wiser, as they are all very preoccupied. I drop my food, drink and travel cup outside, with my friend, who was outside with her Corgi, Percy. I decided to get myself a Iced Lemon Cooler, as I loved the cherry flavour, we had previously. I go back to my friends that were still working. My partner was just waiting for her Latte. My order number was called, even though I was there for less than a minute. He tried to give me her latte. I told him it wasn't mine, but he insisted it was. My partner walks up asks if it's hers, looking confused, he hands it over. I ask, "where is mine" as after all... my number was called. He said, "its not ready yet.." looking at me like I was an inconvenience. I got my cooler in the end, it was time to tuck in. My goodness, the fries again, so flavourful, perfect temperature. With Chipotle mayo chef's kiss. The burger patty looked grey (almost a light greenish hue to it) I was a little put off, so took a little bite... my goodness, it was so so good. Despite the look, it was absolutely delicious! The sweet chilli was delicious, the right amount of zing and sweet. Beautifully flavoured and was prepared really well, still wish the patty didn't look off putting. I took my first sip of the Iced Lemon Cooler... it was one of the most amazing Iced drinks I have ever had! The tartness of the lemon and the hit of sweetness in the after taste. The most amazing understanding of Lemon flavours I have ever had. Probably up there with the maple latte for best drinks I have ever had. The outside seating area was nice, shaded and a good placement. Helped as we did have the dog with us. The shade was a god send as it was 34 centigrade. The apple and caramel fritter was again so nice. The food again was the saviour of the meal! It was prepared so nicely and the flavour are incomparable to other eateries! Can't be topped. However the service here was just not too welcoming. My partner went back to the till to get a French Vanilla coffee powder. Waited at the till for over 5 minutes, multiple people walking past, one even looking at her in a funny way. No one else was waiting for there food... so clearly wanting to be served. Its sad as the food is out of this world, its one I will recommend for years to come. Please just notice your customers, approach them in a friendly tone. If you mix up an order, just say that. Instead of looking at me like I made the mistake. I literally worked in the sector, I know what it's like. If any staff ever read this. I respect you a lot. Please just take notice, make us feel welcomed and give us a...
Read moreEmbarking upon a culinary expedition within the reputed walls of Tim Horton’s, nestled within the historic vistas of Gloucester, I, a mere ignorant sojourner, anticipated a dalliance with the comforting embrace of quintessentially Canadian flavours. Yet, to my bemusement, the gastronomic narrative penned was one astonishingly steeped, quite literally, in the viscous tales of maple syrup, a staple so inherently tied to the Canadian culinary ethos.
The nacho chicken wrap, with its unassuming exterior, upon first bite unravelled a peculiar interplay of conventional spices and an uninvited, albeit compellingly robust, sweetness. It was as though each strip of poultry had been delicately draped in the maple’s sugary shroud, akin to the unexpected spectacle of a docile moose gracefully traipsing through a serene, snowy maple grove.
The nacho beef burger, adorned with what one might expect to be a hearty assemblage of ingredients, instead bewilderingly whispered tales of a similar saccharine immersion. An image was conjured of the stoic Canadian Mounties out in the icy open plains massaging cows with fiendishly warm maple syrup, their iconic red uniforms symbolising a resolute savoury strength, yet here, revealing an unexpected and disarming sweetness beneath the robust exterior.
The iced beverages, with their tantalising promise of refreshing reprieve, seemingly skated forth from a scene of joyous ice hockey camaraderie into a river of unabating sweetness. Envisaging the crisp, refreshing glide across a pristine ice rink, my palate instead was drowned in an overwhelming cascade of syrupy fervency.
Thus, as a humble traveller exploring the charming terrains of Gloucester, my culinary journey through Tim Horton's paradoxically transported me through a profoundly sweetened Canadian panorama, wherein every bite and sip was inexplicably doused in the nation’s iconic maple syrup, crafting an enchanting, if not perplexing, transatlantic gastronomic...
Read moreTurned up at 11:30 today, was very busy and thought it was due to popularity but after waiting around for 40 minutes for the order to be prepared gave up, asked for a refund and left.
The management was clearly not in control and the ticketing system wasn't updating correctly, leaving everyone uncertain and unsure of what was going on. When people were recieving their orders the servers would come back, repeat the order number as they had forgotten items and were not double checking before calling out the order numbers in their rush to try and get ontop of everything.
Asked a server for a refund and mentioned that everyone waiting is confused and unsure. Had the reply of "I'm not sure what's going on either" clearly a disfunctional team at work... the server went to the kitchen and asked them not to prepare my order since it was cancelled. A manager came over to authorise the refund and then asked us to wait while he got our food.
I didn't fully realise this was what he had said until he was talking to a chef in the back who seemed frustrated and angry that they had been told not to make the order and now been told otherwise... We left, we got our refund and didn't ask for the food, they were making more problems for themselves.
Expect long waits, missing items and missing orders if you visit this location in the near future until they can sort...
