Katies Vinyl Bar & Kitchen — Restaurant in Gosport

Nice little music venue serving a good selection of unusual beers (for those that like that sort of thing). Very much liked the beer mats which had been made out of old vinyl records! Also, curiously, the upstairs of the place turned out to be a music shop-cum-second-hand store, which was open despite the late hour and turned out to be popular with the inebriated patrons - cone for the music and beer, stay for the shopping! I've docked this place a star because the night I was there the live band were playing at a volume that was genuinely unsafe... I'm not yet an old fuddy-duddy, but when I listen to live music, I prefer to come home having not damaged my eardrums in the process; if you're playing in a bar that holds about a hundred people, tops, then you don't need your amps set to the volume you'd use when playing a gig at, say,...

The menu is fairly extensive, however at the top each section is the main menu and as you look down it's just small adjustments, giving a wide range of choice. Having said this it caterers well for vegetarian and vegan palettes. The food is well cooked and presented, the staff are friendly and helpful. Only recently found this place via friend and enjoy its atmosphere and distinctive features. My only gripe are the loos, need a paint and a spruce up and one needs the lock replacing. Went for an evening drink and returned for breakfast the next day. The atmosphere is quite unique with customers are able to select vinyl and play it on turntable. Nice music themed decor. Breakfast was excellent, well cooked and very tasty. The best breakfast I've had in Gosport, and I've tried four other places so far. Coffee was excellent and the service friendly and efficient. Disabled access is not too difficult and the premises are all on one level. Could be a bit of a squeeze getting a wheelchair past the bar to the rear seating area or toilet. I enjoyed my visit and...
