Poppins Gosport — Restaurant in Gosport

I noticed that on my toast there was mould on the bread, I advised one of the waitresses who promptly took the toast away before I could even finish my sentence. Then a few of the others seemed to be looking at all the other tables checking to see who else has bread which could possibly be mouldy also. Ignoring my table in the meantime. I called over the waiter who advised that the date on the bread was fine and that there is nothing they can do. I advised I wasnt happy about this due to my son was the one eating it and with his medical conditions it wasnt a good enough reason to still be serving mouldy bread. Manager then came out and explained that he has checked the bread as was in date, I advised that even though the breads in date it should be checked as sometimes dates arent always something to go by. I was told that I could maybe do this at home but this is a business and theres no time for that. I argued the fact that surely this should be done more considering it's a business. He said ok and walked off. The waiter then came back over to advise they were taking my breakfast off the bill which the cost of the meal was inclusive of a tea or coffee. When we looked over our bill there had been £2.25 added on to the bill. So once I went up to pay I was advised that I still have to pay for my coffee. I found the people at the restaurant rather argumentative, intimidating and uncooperative. Not even an apology was provided and I felt that my issue was just swept under the carpet and was just seen as an inconvenience to them. I will not be...

Well... Where do I start..?!?! Visited "Poppins" (🙄) the other week with my mother and expected a pleasant time after reading the countless positive reviews on here. But oh how wrong I was proven...! The first thing that hit me was the FOUL ODOR of ROTTEN EGGS when I entered. I mean,, yes they serve fried/scrambled eggs but the smell was OVERWHELMING...! I wondered if perhaps one of the gentlemen sitting at the window table had soiled themselves but NO; the smell lingered...! Anyway..., I digress.... I was astonished by the amount of choice (NOT) of the overpriced food they had to offer.. The staff here were fairly pleasant when taking orders however the food took almost an hour to come out...?!?! We only ordered full Englishes..?? It's not rocket science ! Surprisingly, the food was OK. But I didn't get a chance to finish my beans, as the moment I put my cutlery down OUR PLATES WERE WHISKED AWAY...?!?! I hadn't finished my beans....? Rude ! Decent food, rubbish service and overpriced for bog standard grub..!! Well, I certainly won't be POPPIN' in to "POPPINS"...

Update. Management apologised and offered us 2 free meals. They still will not offer kids meals below 10 years though so probably won't eat there again. Never had a problem until yesterday. Tried to order a kids jacket potato as my wife has a small appetite to be told it's only for children under 10 years., despite a sign saying they support dietary restrictions! No where does it state that on the menus, and we have always purchased for our sons even though they are older than 10. Not only did they miss out on the order, but they also lost a customer as we will not be returning to...
