Great beers but the venue is soul less and lacks any welcoming vibe. I'd love to support this venue more since they have some great beers and have a great location but I feel it could be so much more. The menu is a mish mash of nothingness. It's not somewhere you would come for a hearty meal. Fixing the menu would be a starting point but it just feels like the management don't come from a hospitality back ground. Theres no love going into the venue and for that reason despite having a decent selection of beer its never going to be my first choice of drinking venues. I hope it's a simple case of it being a young company still finding its way. I'll check back in 6 months but unfortunately I won't be a regular...

The pictures and menu don't match what we had today,the 4oz burger as a cheap 2oz burger thing and tasteless. The roll was not glazed but again a cheap supermarket roll.Only 4 wedges which were ok.The barman seemed in a bad mood,despite booking and saying outer friends had a dog we arrived to we have a couple of people who don't like dogs so we felt compelled to sit outside.Warped tables no umbrellas for the sun. The beer was fine,my suggestion would be get your act together or stick to beer n crisps. A lot of money for what we got,barman said supply issues!!! Lovely location in the historic Priddy's Hard with fantastic waterside views towards Horsea Island and Portsmouth Dockyard. You have good views of any of the large warships when docked if you're sitting outside. Powder Monkey has great food, including for vegetarians and vegans such as a vegan hot dog, roast potato wedges, pies and baguettes. Large choice of craft beers, gins and rums. We went outside after eating and sat right on the water's edge. When the tide is going out you might see large wading birds like oystercatcher and little egret. Hardworking staff and nautical decor make this a great place to relax for a few hours....
