Updated review - what a disappointement. First breakfast out after lockdown and I shouldn't have bothered. Despite being THE ONLY table in the restaurant and from what I could tell, the only people ordering food, our breakfast order for 5 people took 35 minutes to arrive with drinks (fruit juice and coffee) just quicker at 20 mins. I don't know who was working the kitchen, but they shouldn't be. My daughter enjoyed her pancakes, even though the request for maple syrup rather than honey was ignored. My wife had a vegetarian breakfast which arrived without spinach or hallomi and had to be requested. I had a 'full English' (the attached picture paints it in a good light) and bear in mind this is a £10.50 plate of food. The sausages were dry and burnt (and placed burnt side down so you did know!), the 'toast' was limp warm bread, the black pudding was cold in the centre and didn't appear to have seen heat. A tiny portion of mushroom (not the promised flat mushroom) and the tomato was a tiny slimy thing with no skin. The best part was the disgusting scrambled egg which was like rubber and contained all the burnt bits that had been scrapped of the bottom of the pan. Having spent 35 mins waiting I wasn't going to ask for a sequel and so had to leave it. As I said really disappointed and simply won't chose to go back. I don't understand with 4 members of team around and one dedicated to the bar (what was he doing?) how it could have taken so long. Shame because I do like the place, but if you can't have someone who can cook in the kitchen then what's the point? Previously left a 4 star. Nice breakfast. Not massive but good quality, tasty and well cooked. Lovely to sit out and look over the harbour.

I don’t think anyone here particularly likes their job if I’m honest. Prawn skewers completely unseasoned, just warm and bland, charcoal bread slices, extremely slow service, no apology for the delay of over 40 minutes, waiter looked extremely sad and we felt like we were an inconvenience to even be there before we’d even asked for anything yet. We were sat there at 10pm with every other customer gone and they still didn’t come and ask us how the food was (awful) or if we wanted the bill. Won’t be coming back, would’ve asked for my bill to be cancelled or reduced but to be honest we just wanted to leave as soon as possible. We aren’t picky people, we don’t have crazy standards we just expected to eat food from someone who actually enjoys cooking, and be served by someone who actually wasn’t devastated to be there.

Really enjoyable food, slid down with a drink. Friendly people running it, also dogs allowed. Based in the old Navy bakery. Give it a try. Been again, on a Sunday afternoon and what superb meals. Wife had a beef roast and she said it was the best she could remember. I had sausage and mash, three decent sausages, mashing and honey veg and my mother had her usual fish and chips which she throughly enjoyed.

We were party of 4, arrived around 7:10 table booked for 7:15 it wasn't particularly busy for a Saturday night. So we were shown to our table and about 10 mins later the waitress came and took our drinks order. We sat chatting and around 25 mins later another waitress came and took a drinks order, explaining we had already ordered drinks she then took our food order. We waited for around another 20 mins until we received our drinks. We received our starters around 5 mins after our drinks. Sat chatting again for at least another hour waiting for our mains and another drinks order when the waitress unexpectedly brought us the bill and asked if we had enjoyed our evening 😮 .... We explained we hadn't even had our mains or second drinks order! She said that another member of staff had told her we asked for our bill which we obviously did not. She assured us that we would get our mains/sides and drinks promptly, but still we waited another 20mins for drinks and a further 20 mins for 2 mains and another 15/20 mins for the other 2 mains, all mains were burgers, 2 of the burgers received were cooked fine the later two were 'RAW'. And couldn't even taste the extra ingredients that were supposed to be in it. One waitress asked if we wanted any sauces, and my husband said he would like some mayo please... We never got it, a customer on another table saw all the problems we were having and actually gave us their pot of mayo! Waitresses were aware of the issues we faced throughout the evening and were very apologetic and kindly discounted our bill. However this was still a quite expensive night considering, even with a discount our bill came to just under £140! My meal of burger and chips being £14+ for technically a small bowl of frozen chips (I took a few bites but I couldn't stomach the burger ) This is a lovely venue, and perhaps we just chose the wrong night, but unfortunately I don't think it's somewhere we...

Came here for my partners late birthday celebration with his parents. We had never been before and didn’t know there was a customer car park so just followed Google which took us to residential permit parking. I called the restaurant to advise we were looking for a parking space and would be late and was told ‘just park anywhere with a C’. There was no explanation that there was a separate car park or where the C was - ground or board. We eventually found the correct car park on the other side of the yard and by the time we got to the restaurant we were 25 mins late. Greeting staff member said in a very rude tone ‘next time if you’re going to be late can you phone us?’ As if I hadn’t already done so. It was very quiet in the restaurant and we were shown to a table - was never asked if we were happy with the table choice. We were presented with 2 menus when there were 4 of us and we had to ask for 2 more. My MIL ordered a Prosecco which didn’t turn up until main course and only because my FIL tracked down 3 separate people to get it. The menu online was completely different to the menu we were presented with and they were out of stock of the first 2 meals I tried to order. This was 1pm on a Saturday. Food was ok but very expensive for what we were served - seemed like London prices. Toilets were not sign posted at end of corridor - met with 3 doors and it’s guess work which is the toilet. Asked for the bill and upon receipt the staff member walked off - we had to then flag down someone for a card machine. The restaurant itself is nice and the food was fine but 1 or 2 members of staff seem to be carrying the rest of them in terms of efficiency and manners. The fact the restaurant can’t update their website with the correct menu or respond to these reviews says it all. Avoid unless you want to be treated like an...
