Tried this fantastic Pakistani restaurant for the first time and had a good outing. It is a typical Desi/ Indian subcontinent place with a wide range of options on the menu and is open till late night.
The restaurant is located on Corporation Road, a bit away from the City Centre, which makes it not a popular spot but is worth dropping by if one is passing this way. It's a not so fancy restaurant, but has enough tables for dine-in, friendly staff and good food.
Whatever we tried was well-cooked and tasty. Their menu had a wide range of both Vegetarian and Non-Veg options, all at reasonable prices.
We had a light meal - “Spicy Karahi Chicken Fry” with naan, roti and “Karak Chai”. It came to a total of 20£ for two, which makes it 10£ per person for a decent dinner with a hot beverage.
The staff was friendly, and courteous. The ambience was decent, with clean tables and toilet. There's nothing fancy about this place, but it's good enough to spend some time to dine in for lunch or dinner. Parking by the road close to the road also won't be a problem, even during busy hours. Had a good overall experience.
My scores:

My verdict: It wouldn't come close to some other Desi restaurants in town, but it's a decent one, worth giving more than one try, given its value for money. Anyone with Desi Spicy taste palette...
Read moreAs a real Pakistani not British born one and hailing from Lahore this place had much more to offer in taste and quality when it was run by Pathans. To start off, the place looks shabby and tables are all sticky, waiters are having jolly time around the place and not keen on hospitality. I ordered a lamb karahi which was not lamb but of aged sheep(Mutton meat) I could taste the meat was of an old cattle and not up to the high standards. The cooking of it was done well but there was an exceptional amount of oil which I can say was neither desi ghee/butter or olive oil! The biryani had a funny colour like all Bengali or Indian wanna be Pakistani foods have (Orange) and the meat again was of an old animal. The Saag was okish and had been made some days ago by it’s taste. The staff had no idea of difference between a Naan, Kulcha and roti and charged different amounts also on billing. The whole experience was okish and I would not go again unless I miss home a lot as mirchi is even worse in food terms. Prices are extortionate as well when compared to Birmingham...
Read morePlaced a order for pickup. The culchas I ordered were not culchas as they ended up looking like naan with sesame seeds on them. They were burnt so I called the business number and was asked to take the order back. The guy there was so rude and other staff there didn't care. They didn't!! refund me and didn't!! even offer a replacement. They're in possession of the order and I'm out of pocket for something we didn't have not to mention my wasted time and fuel for the two trips I made because of this one order. The previous owners were much better as the new owners have run the place down. The hygiene standards are questionable too. If you're looking for a good experience with good food, this is...
