Various friends have recommended this restaurant and it doesn’t disappoint. Each dish is freshly cooked and prettily presented on the plate. I had a trout gravlax with a dill cream sauce and a spinach tortellini. Followed by a really well cooked sea bass fillet with a crisp skin on a bed of linguine, samphire and in a creamy seafood sauce. For desert I had the white and dark chocolate fondant which has a nice surprise in it with rum/raisin ice cream and banana. My Ellie diners had the cheese soufflé starter, beef bourguignon, hake and the waffle. They are happy to make dietary adjustments where possible and notified in advance. The restaurant is small and has a very intimate atmosphere and feels very French. Well worth trying.

We found this hidden gem unexpectedly, driving by from the Highcliffe Castle. We were purely amazed by this restaurant, food and service, that they have provided. First of all, it is run by the French staff with a French chef, who cooked beautiful and very tasty dishes! Mussels, grilled seafood and desserts were simply fabulous, but my winner was the steak from the Specials board, which was one of the best steaks I have ever tried, perfectly cooked, so tender and flavourful. Although this Bistro is almost 2 hours drive from our home, we would definitely come back again. Thank you for the lovely dinner and great time!

We visited “Bistro my way” for lunch on 1st October, the first day of the new menu, for a treat while on holiday. The bistro is small but perfectly formed offering 20 or so covers with a chic French vibe. We opted for options from the standard menu to take advantage of the excellent value lunch deal. While the restaurant was quiet ( it was a Wednesday lunchtime out of holidays) the it felt cosy, and the service was great. Food was excellent with a good set of options from the specials board to support the main menu. Thanks for an excellent lunch!

I hesitate to write this review. It might encourage too many people to try out this true gem of a boutique bistro thus making it hard for me to get a booking at short notice. Equally, it might encourage Charles to expand his operation and lose the unique quality of what he has achieved. This is a small, thoughtfully decorated establishment that has charming staff who go about their jobs in a friendly, unhurried yet thoroughly professional manner. I glanced through the kitchen window to see a slick, professional kitchen in operation, and was lucky enough to exchange a few words with the chef patron which only reinforced my opinions. The food was, quite simply, perfect. I could mention the confit of duck leg that fell off the bone and melted in my mouth, accompanied by a deep, rich sauce that was as complex and beautiful as any that I have ever had - but I won’t. Or the goats cheese in filo pastry with real ale sorbet (yes, you read that right) that I just had to try because it seemed unreal to find such a dish on a menu, let alone a dessert menu - but that would be to exclude the myriad other dishes that, had I had the time and appetite to try, I would have. Add to this a simple but well thought out and sourced wine menu, and you have the perfect little bistro that you would love to find in a charming side street in a delightful little French village - yet here it is in Highcliffe. I don’t know how or why it is, but I do know that I want it to be here for a long time and I want to enjoy the delights it has to offer for many years. I won’t...

Sorry I did not have my phone so I do not have any pictures, my wife and I just had lunch in Highcliffe at "My way " Bistro and Patisserie bar, celebrating our 24th anniversary (suggested by some friends), WOW,it really was lovely and my wife being on gluten free eating was well taken care of, we had 3 courses from the specials board, the scallops and I had the chicken/black pudding terrine both excellent, for main cod and I had bavette (rare) with fries and shallots/salad, well cooked and all very good, I had a glass of Picpoul (white wine) with the terrine and a glass of Rioja Crianza (red wine) with the bavette, both really enjoyed, for pudding, I had the Paris Brest wich was lovely, it has been a while, so good memories I am not sure what was my wife's pudding ice cream, Just know that she did enjoy it too, and to finish, an expresso. Definitely would recommend and look forward to return when we get the chance to. Thank you for a...

Staff was so friendly, polite, attentive and chatty. Met the owner of the establishment, also the chef. And what a guy he is. His passion for good food is inspiring. I heard about this place from the town of reading. Drove all the way down for Sunday roast and was honestly the best 3 course meal I've ever had. The beef roast was the best roast I've ever had. The bass fillet was so moist and flavourful. Reccomend the twice baked cheese souffle. For starter. You.will not be dissapointed. I had 2 deserts. The chocolate fondant was perfectly cooked. And the cake special. A lemon curd and berry Frazier. Incredible. Reccomend going to anyone that wants a great dining experience and quality food for a fantastic price. You will...
