Unheard of these days… as you can see from the rotating specials board there’s a wide variety of pre selected sandwiches to choose from. Along side this board they have a set of staples such as the tex mex (which I’d also highly recommend!) while also having a board behind the counter to wire into a custom piece of your desire.

Place has a couple chairs on the side to eat on, and plenty of place to stand. It’s got a big drinks fridge and fresh coffee brewing all day round. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful allowing me to wander off to the local shop to grab some bits and bobs while my food was being prepared.

I think if you are in the area and you’re needing lunch there’s no other place to be than bite me.

I miss working in Cessnock purely for the fact that Bite Me is no longer a short walk for my lunch break. At one point there they decided to put mango chutney on a tuna salad sandwich special, and that altered an aspect of my life forever. I share many fond memories of this place with a former colleague over baked potatoes (canny beat their tatties), soups, paninis and caramel shortcakes. The prices are incredibly modest, and the staff are always lovely and kind, with the long queues out the door moving quickly. I've not even mentioned the genius memes they create on their IG page. Just used this place after recommendation... chose the fixed sarnie offer but loads there to choose from to suit your own tastes. Unbelievable value and well impressed at the sarnie size, fillings and taste. Under a fiver and I'm stuffed with decent food ... (better than any local fastfood) good luck and I will be back to...
