Started well, dipped and ended well.

It's under a hotel with steps down and has very low ceilings. Very smart toilets and has nice decor.

During the 3 hours we were there, only 2 other tables were filled and I may know why.

Starters were excellent. Filo pastry filled with lamb and deep fried served with mint yoghurt. Delicious. Can be seen in the photos.

Main I had moussaka. Hmm. Probably the least good one I have had. The lamb was fatty, and had random gritty lumps in. Not a lot of taste. Served with about 12 chips it was topped up with some bread. Bear in mind this was £18.

Dessert was baklava and coffee. Both were excellent.

Good service.

The meal was £35 each and this is on the high side compared to the quality of the food. We enjoyed our visit and wouldn't avoid going again, but would definitely go to other restaurants in the area for this...

What more can be said other than wow ! My husband whose family are from turkey and I went for a meal on Thursday evening. We read the reviews and were hopeful and expectations were met and exceeded. My husband has a mixed grill and I had moussaka - everything was freshly / home cooked and tasted absolutely stunning. We finished with a traditionally homemade baklava which was out of this world. The food wasn’t massively quick however it was worth the slight extra wait due to quality and freshness. The service was lovely and very attentive and the amazing gentleman, Turkish owner was engaging and very eager for feedback which evidences a real drive for improvement / constructive feedback. We would absolutely return as the food, service and quality was...

Four of us went to dinner at Efes this evening. Apparently the restaurant has only been open for less than two weeks. The food was amazing. We had the house special which was for two or more people. This consisted of a meze platter for starters, a main course with several different types of meat, Bulgur wheat, bread and a separate bowl of salad. The quantity of food was vast and was absolutely delicious. Dessert or coffee was also included in the price of the meal. The service by Yusuf and his companion was excellent and extremely attentive. He went above and beyond to enhance the atmosphere and to help us in our choice. We had a most enjoyable meal and evening and look forward to visiting again in the...

After a recommendation from a nearby pub, we visited Efes fairly late on a Tuesday evening, and are very glad we did. Service was quick, the food was delicious and neither Hakan or Yusef could do enough for us. Greediness meant that we forgot to take a photo of the food, but we ordered the hot and cold meze platter as a starter, and then moussaka and kleftiko as our mains. The portions were a good size and all delicious. Hakan also kindly made us his speciality cocktail to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, which was a lovely extra touch. Highly recommended and wouldn't hesitate to come back next time we visit Harrogate
