The Director of Music and Organist are very friendly and had a nice chat with them afterwards. The service in Anglo Catholic style was well done also though the sermon was a vague musing on the fact God does not always answer prayer in the way we expect delivered in a languid drawl by the Rector. He sounded like he’d rather be somewhere else: nothing profound there! Also nobody spoke to me afterwards at coffee in the side chapel as a visitor so after standing around like a spare part for a while I left. Harrogate strikes me as the Reigate of the North. Perhaps I did not look prosperous enough.
