Great China — Restaurant in Great Britain

Having eaten at this restaurant many times in the past, my wife and I decided to pop in for a meal on the way home from work. This proved to be a very big mistake and one we won't be making again. As we arrived early, there was no customers sat at the tables just two children sat at the back table. It was rather odd that there were no staff around, despite the restaurant being open, in fact my wife had to ask one of the children if the restaurant was indeed open because no one came to seat us.

It then took ages for someone to come and take our order and as soon as the first dish arrived we quickly realized that the quality of the food has dropped dramatically. Very poor quality, dry ribs with hardly any sauce, duck dishes where the duck was dry and tasteless. Even the sweet and sour was flavourless, nothing seemed to be fresh, it seems to us that the dishes were microwaved ! Both my wife and I recall having some of the best food here but not anymore.

What was worse than the food, was the abysmal service, there was literally no one but us in the restaurant and yet our second batch of dishes took over 35 minutes to arrive. We asked to order the next batch as soon as they arrived, so we could avoid another long wait but the staff member taking orders refused and instead went to see to a new table of customers that had just arrived and only returned to us after 20 minutes. At this point both my wife and I had eaten enough poor quality food and received enough bad service to never set foot in Great China restaurant again.

Do your selves a favour and never go out for a meal at the Great China restaurant, actually it has the wrong name, it should be called the Piss Poor...

Oh my gosh.....I was serving our meal from Great China tonight, and hit something hard in the curry. Guess what it was......a sink plug! A dirty one! You would think when I called them to inform them that they would be apologetic. Terrible. They simply offered to bring me a replacement for that one dish when they had a free delivery man later! Or give me a refund for that one dish of the meal. After I told them how unclean and ridiculous this was, they offered to give me a whole replacement meal when the delivery man was back later! When I told them that I would not want a replacement meal as it had ruined our evening and put me off their food ( I had already waited an hour and a half for delivery!), I had to put my foot down to even get a refund for the whole meal. Ridiculous! Then they said that they could only drop the refund off when THEY were available, and we have to give them all other dishes back. He said a tiny quick sorry after the whole long chat! I (who can't drive) therefore had to get a lift to return the meal to get my money back. When I got there, they were hardly apologising at...

What happened? New owners? On Saturday night I booked a table for 7. They no longer do the all you can eat buffet and the service was terrible. It all went wrong from the drinks onwards. On a table of 7, missing Chinese tea for one person and missing the ice (specifically asked for) for another. Starters were ordered and rather randomly a small plate of pancake rolls, seaweed and ribs turned up. Then 15 minutes later some more turned up with chicken satay and sesame toast. Then surprisingly another plate of food arrived including chilli squid (which was soo rubbery you couldn't chew it) - previously it had been delicious. By this time they hadn't come back to take the main order (every main course averaged out between £7 - £9), which seemed a lot. So my party got up and walked out, deciding to go to Got Beef just down the road - which was amazing. I went to the counter asking for the bill and sat down at the table. Another five minutes went by and a waitress came up to me at the empty table asking for the order for the main courses. Service terrible, food awful and expensive. Will...
