Came here with my mum a while ago, I was pregnant at the time so extra cautious when eating out. Having had been here numerous times and enjoying the food we thought this was the perfect place to go. HOWEVER this particular time was awful. The lamb shank was freezing cold. We told the waitress (a plesant 15 year old girl), she was very apologetic and brought it out three times however it remained cold. Well the chef was having non of it, he came out raging and shouting. Claiming we were lying about the food been cold, accused us of been racist (myself been mixed race) etc. We were taken aback at his attitude, and could not believe it. Then when we reported him he claimed we were the aggressive ones! We remained quiet throughout his outburst, and the two women sat next to us were gobsmacked. Absolutley shocking. Very bizarre experience, such a shame as we had previously enjoyed going.

Upon reading previous reviews it seems this cafe/restaurant is very defensive and unable to tolerate or accept a honest negative experience. Like previously stated the food we had prior to this was of a high standard, maybe the chef was in a bad mood :).

Just to confirm this is the first and only review I have left on Google, the only other review was left on trip advisor, this comment was removed as I had decided to delete my account, as I'm sure your aware comments are therefore automatically removed. My recolation of events has remained consistent and Its a shame you are unable to hold accountability and feel the need to lie and reverse the blame. My mum had made a quiet comment to the waitress with reguards the chef, that made her cry. I did not say a word throughout, maybe recruting experienced staff as opposed to young inexperienced relatives to keep cost down may be a suggestion. I was unaware there was a time frame and restriction on when and where you're able to post a review from an event. Reading your expected response I think the animosity you continue hold is...

5-Star Review for Nomad Cafeteria – Harrogate: We had a truly memorable dining experience at Nomad Cafeteria in Harrogate; one that beautifully combined authentic flavours, heartfelt cooking, and genuine hospitality. My son ordered the Chicken Mediterranean with Halloumi, chips, and topped with house (Algerian sauce), and from the first bite, it instantly took him back to the taste he experienced before, he was glowing; a moment of nostalgia we didn’t expect it. The flavours were deep, familiar, and comforting. The Algerian house sauce was the perfect touch; rich, slightly spicy, and full of character, my main dish was Chekchouka Merguez (DZ Sausages) perfectly cooked and totally balanced on top of the checkchouka. We started with a simple yet beautiful starter of grilled aubergine Caviar and hummus; the smokiness added such authenticity and depth of flavour. The accompanying green salad was seasoned perfectly, and the dressing was nothing short of outstanding; fresh, balanced, and truly well thought out. To summarise: We had a truly exceptional experience at Nomad Cafeteria in Harrogate. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming; but what stood out the most was the authenticity of the food and the genuine hospitality of the team behind it. Special thanks to the two amazing chefs who prepared our meals; not only was the food incredibly flavourful and true to its roots, but both chefs took the time to greet us, check in, and share a bit about the dishes. Their friendliness and passion made the meal feel personal, not just professional. And even the water served here deserves praise! Refreshing, clean, friendly, knowledgeable and perfectly chilled, a small detail, but it reflects the overall care they put into every aspect of the experience. Nomad Cafeteria is more than just a place to eat; it’s a place where the people behind the food make you feel at home. Highly recommended, and I’ll definitely...

The service was brilliant, lovely atmosphere, not the first time I’ve been and will come again. My husband really enjoyed his meal , he said it’s the best kebab he’s ever had. My meal was nice , but unfortunately it did not say that the “Chefs special sauce “ was spicy. Not everyone likes spice or can tolerate it. It also came all over the meal. I didn’t choose one of the meals I liked the sound of because it said , it had a spicy sauce. Had I of known the one I ordered had a spicy sauce I would have asked not to have it. I tried to get as much of the food as I could , but unfortunately it was all over . At the time i thought I could manage with it and ate what I could, having to leave some of it as it was plastered in this sauce. What might be a mild spice to someone can be hot for others. It got to the back of my throat and made me cough, my eyes were watering, my nose running and I was bright red . The following two days I had stomach cramps which I can only think came as a result of the spicy sauce . So please , state on your menu that the sauce is spicy or in fact any of the...

Very good place to dine with the loveliest chap on the till, extremely friendly, jolly, cheerful and welcoming. Good decor theme inside with murals, fezs, Moroccan ceramics and lights. Spoilt for choice with range of cakes and bakes. Outdoor seating to the front on the pavement. Homemade lemonade on the menu. Plenty of milk alternatives. Charcoal latté, turmeric coffee. I only went for a cuppa and light bite but shall return to sample the dining menu. I had the Moroccan mint tea and it was very good. The one negative was the atrocious teapot, dribblesome and then some! I lost about a third of my tea to the thirsty table. I did mention this to the chap on the till and was told that amazingly they were new teapots, that I had not been the only complainant and that the issue was in the process of being resolved. It took up all the serviettes on the table to sop up the mint tea lake. However, I shan't be deterred from a revisit because this chap was a delight and a treasure.

WOW this is a hidden jem. North African influences all over. There is a strong Algerian and Moroccon presence with the place and menu. Family of 4, 2 adults and two children we had the chicken pizza and the Marrakech burger. I thought the pizza was made to perfection and the kids enjoyed it to. Simple. The Marrakech burger was out of this world and so delicious. Not pink in the middle how i prefer. The turkey bacon was spot on. Tasted like quality meat rather than the poor rashers you can get at the supermarket. We finished with cakes and hot drinks. Moroccan tea is such a pallet cleanser. Only downsize was I had to share the burger and its too far weekly visits. Otherwise this could be my regular. Very reasonably priced to. We also caused a glass breakage and the staff were so kind and helpful not at all making us feel to blame. Wonderful staff and it help to have great food on the menu to.

I visited Nomad Cafe and Deli whilst exploring Harrogate. It had been recommended by a friend and after visiting I can see why! It was a busy cafe, with a fantastic buzz. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and quickly found us a table. The menu is vast, and offers a huge selection of Mediterranean dishes, as well as breakfast and the most amazing looking selection of cakes. I chose the chefs selection meze which had a little bit of everything. It was very well flavoured, and featured hummus, baba ganoush, a selection of meats, salad and flatbread. My husband had shakshuka which he said was very good. The falafel are also amazing, I’d highly recommend getting some as a side as they were delightfully crisp and flavoursome. Overall it was a fantastic cafe and a wonderful place for lunch. The staff were friendly, the food was excellent and it was very reasonably priced for the quality.
