We attended for a nice evening meal with our toddler. We are from blackburn so we thought to try this new restaurant. Morrocan food is usually our favourite but i had a few doubts with this restaurant being in blackburn.
Giving them the benefit of the doubt being open just over 2 months as our server told us. ( Who was an amazing host to us and was from Morroco himself, which was nice to see this authenticity). We did order two mains and a side dish for our toddler to share with us.
The steak was cooked well along with my chicken dish the only fault would be it was the chicken dish i ordered was a bit hard so it didn't seem as fresh as they were portraying. The mash seemed to be ready made store bought mash. ( We are foodies and we cook a range of cuisines at home so you know when a mash isn't freshly homemade- the colour/ texture of it wasn't homemade) The wings were definitely what needed work. they were cold and dry. we could barely chew them. They were definitely niblets and not wings. we had to send these back and they offered to send us a new batch. but the new batch was still the same. they were cold and not fresh. Now wings are not supposed to be like this and serving these to customers thinking they will agree with you is just not on. Myself and husband have worked in restaurants as waiters and also owned one. so this was definitely something that can have work put into it to make it better. we do think we got some sort of food poisoning from this as the food was not fresh.
The restaurant was not busy although it was a Saturday night so that didn't contribute towards the quality of the food. Although it still shouldn't.
Seems like a decent place but needs a lot of work. Maybe if we visit in a years time it will have been more established. A shame as we were really excited to try moroccan food...
